When Is the Next Clear the Rack Sale? Detect It From Nordstrom Rack's Clearance Prices

Nobody outside Nordstrom Rack can tell you the date of the next Clear the Rack, because Rack does not publish it. You can know it started within the hour, though: Scavio's Nordstrom Rack API returns every clearance item's price with clearance_price_range, and while Clear the Rack runs, the items that take the extra discount also carry promotion_price_range and promotion_percent_off. Poll POST /api/v1/nordstromrack/category with /clearance and alert when those fields fill in. Each check is one 5-credit call, so checking hourly costs about $3.60 a month on the Growth plan.

The question comes back every season. On r/FrugalFemaleFashion, the thread that ranks first on Google for "clear the rack dates", a shopper holding off on purchases asked when the sale usually happens; the replies were what one store employee had heard and a date from a Facebook post, with the caveat "might just be my store". In April 2026 the same question came up on r/Nordstrom1901, and the answer was that one had just ended. Asking around tells you about the last one. The prices tell you about the current one.

What a live Clear the Rack looks like in the data

On November 8, 2026, during the event USA Today reported as running through November 11, we pulled Rack's clearance section with Scavio. Two rows from the first page, sorted by percent off, as captured:

The dress shows all three prices: $168 compare-at, $10.49 clearance, and $7.86 after the extra 25%. The earrings are on clearance but not in the event. That split held across the section: 23 of the first 24 items sorted by percent off carried the extra 25%, and across the first five pages in the default order, 85 of 108 did. Every promotion price was exactly 75% of the clearance price, and 20 of the 23 exceptions were Adornia jewelry. Outside an event, the promotion fields are null on clearance items, which is what makes them a usable switch.

Step 1: Check the clearance section on a schedule

One call returns 24 clearance items (5,254 in the section on November 8). Count the rows that carry a promotion and alert on the change:

Run it hourly from a cron job and store the result. The first run where most rows carry a promotion is your start time; the first run where they are all null again is your end time. That record is the closest thing to a Clear the Rack calendar you can build, since no response carries a start or end date.

Step 2: When it fires, check the size and the store

The listing price is the lowest across a style's sizes and colors, so check the one you want before you go. The Nike Court Vision Low Sneaker showed $26.23 on the clearance page. A product call (5 credits) priced its 605 sizes and showed that $26.23 applied to one color, PEARL PINK/SAIL, with no units to ship. An availability call (10 credits) for size 8 M returned 17 Rack stores that could hand it over and 39 units for pickup across the chain; of the 9 Rack stores within 25 miles of ZIP 10001 in a stores call, only White Plains was among them. What this can and cannot tell you

• Detection, not prediction: the API shows that Clear the Rack is running, minutes after the prices change, but no field says when the next one starts or when the current one ends.
• Per item, not per event: the extra off does not apply to every clearance item, so a deal alert has to read promotion_price_range on each row rather than take 25% off every red tag.
• Final sale: all 85 Clear the Rack items we pulled carried the final_sale badge, and Rack's customer service page says final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged.
• No price adjustments: the same page says Rack does "not price match or make adjustments". One r/nordstrom_rack shopper found a Clear the Rack bag $25 cheaper hours after buying it. Checking the price before checkout is the only protection.
• US only: this covers nordstromrack.com in the United States.
