How Do You Check RTX 5090 Stock at Micro Center? Read Each Store's Count Through an API

Micro Center prints a unit count per store. Scavio's Micro Center API returns it for every RTX 5090 listing at the store you pick, as JSON for 2 credits a call.

Micro Center publishes a unit count for each store, and you can read it from code. Scavio's Micro Center API takes a 3-digit store_id and returns that store's label, such as "1 IN STOCK - Buy In Store" or "NOT CARRIED", with the count parsed, for every RTX 5090 listing in one search call. /product adds the full listing and a yes or no for every store. Each call costs 2 credits, about $0.004 on the Growth plan billed yearly, and needs no Micro Center account.

The question comes up every time a card launches. On r/Microcenter, a shopper planning a trip asked how to check 5090 stock and whether to "ask the staff about 5090 availability"; the replies said to arrive before opening for vouchers and to call ahead. The thread ranks first on Google for "check micro center stock by store". On r/macmini, a post with 89 upvotes and 33 comments described building a dashboard of Mac mini stock across every Micro Center store rather than switching stores by hand. Both are the same job: read each store's count without clicking through the site.

What Micro Center itself offers

Micro Center has no public API. On microcenter.com you select a store, and each product page shows that store's label. The count belongs to that one store, so checking a card across a region means switching stores and reloading. The numbers are public, which is what Scavio reads; a stores call gives you all 31 store ids to loop over.

Step 1: Search the store for every RTX 5090 listing

Bash
curl -s https://api.scavio.dev/api/v1/microcenter/search \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SCAVIO_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"query": "rtx 5090", "category": "518", "store_id": "131", "include_out_of_stock": true}'

Category 518 is Graphics Cards and store 131 is Dallas. On November 2, 2026 this returned 57 RTX 5090 listings. 56 of them read NOT CARRIED, and one had a unit on the shelf, as captured (image trimmed):

JSON
{

  "sponsored": false,
  "product_id": "713300",
  "sku": "063941",
  "name": "ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 ROG Astral Edition 20 OC Quad-Fan Graphics Card; 32GB GDDR7 Memory; PCIe 5.0 x16 Interface; 170 RT Cores",
  "brand": "ASUS",

    "label": "1 IN STOCK - Buy In Store",
    "quantity": 1,
    "quantity_capped": false,
    "in_stock": true,
    "not_carried": false
  },
  "open_box": null,
  "rebate": null,
  "in_store_only": false
}

price is null because Micro Center labels this card "Buy In Store" and shows no online price for it. The same search at four more stores, run within 30 seconds, found 1 unit of this card in Chicago and none listed at Cambridge, Santa Clara or North Jersey, where it read NOT CARRIED; the other 56 listings read NOT CARRIED at all five. Run it at the store you plan to visit before you leave.

Step 2: Open the card for the details

Bash
curl -s https://api.scavio.dev/api/v1/microcenter/product \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SCAVIO_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"product_id": "713300", "store_id": "131"}'

Product returned the store's label as "1 NEW IN STOCK - Buy In Store", the SKU, MPN (ROGAST509032G20) and UPC, the spec table, the rating and reviews, can_ship and can_pickup both false, any open-box units at the store, and stores_in_stock, a yes or no for every store. For a card with a normal online listing, that list is the quickest way to find which stores to search for a count: an ASUS RTX 5070 Ti PRIME was in stock at 27 of 31 stores the same day.

Step 3: Turn it into a restock alert

Keep the rows from step 1 that are not not_carried, store each one's quantity per store, and alert when a card goes from SOLD OUT to a number or when the count drops. The same check on RTX 5070 Ti cards across 11 stores showed why the store matters: one $1,449.99 card had 25 or more in Cambridge and none in Chicago or Houston. The full sweep is in the best Micro Center stock APIs, and how to check Micro Center stock by store covers open box and the store list.

What the numbers can and cannot tell you

  • Live, not cached: each call reads Micro Center when you make it, and fetched_at records when.
  • Capped at 25: Micro Center shows at most 25, so quantity_capped: true means 25 or more.
  • Not carried is not sold out: a not-carried listing will not restock at that store; a sold-out one can.
  • Trust the count you asked for: stores_in_stock is a yes or no, and for this Buy In Store card it did not mark Dallas even though Dallas's own count read 1. Use it to choose stores, then read the count with that store_id.
  • Not the line outside: launch-day vouchers handed out before opening, as the thread's replies describe, do not show in any online count, so call the store before a long drive.

Watching RTX 5090 listings at 5 stores every 15 minutes for 12 hours on a launch day is 240 searches, 480 credits: about $0.96 at the Growth-yearly rate.

Frequently asked questions

How can I tell if Micro Center has an RTX 5090 in stock?

Select the store on microcenter.com and read the label on the card's page, or call Scavio's Micro Center search with that store's store_id and the Graphics Cards category. Each listing comes back with the store's label, a count and in_stock. On November 2, 2026 one RTX 5090 model showed 1 unit at the Dallas and Chicago stores.

What does Not Carried mean on a Micro Center RTX 5090?

It means that store does not sell that listing, which is different from sold out, where the store stocks it and has none left. On November 2, 2026, 56 of the 57 RTX 5090 listings in a Graphics Cards search at Dallas read NOT CARRIED, and the same 56 read NOT CARRIED at four other stores.

Is Micro Center's online stock count accurate?

The count is what Micro Center publishes for that store at the moment you ask, the same number a shopper sees on the site. It does not cover what happens in the line outside: shoppers on r/Microcenter describe launch-day vouchers handed out before opening, which no online count shows, so treat a low count as a reason to call the store.

Can I get an alert when a Micro Center GPU restocks?

Micro Center does not offer a stock API to subscribe to. Scavio's search returns the store's count for every card in one call, so you can poll the stores you care about on a schedule and alert when a card goes from SOLD OUT to a number. Polling 5 stores every 15 minutes for 12 hours is 240 searches, 480 credits.
