For Home Depot stock by store inside a restock alert, a contractor's materials tool or an AI agent, start with Scavio's Home Depot API. Its availability endpoint returns the units on hand at whichever store you name, whether the item is on that store's shelf or only orderable to it, the pickup date and the store's price, and its stores endpoint turns a ZIP into the 20 nearest store numbers. Each call costs 2 credits, which is $4 per 1,000 checks on the Growth plan billed yearly.
You need a third-party option because Home Depot publishes no self-serve API for store stock, and its website shows one store at a time. Knowing which nearby store actually has an item means switching stores one by one, which is the job behind threads like "But it says in the app it's in stock" on r/HomeDepot.
We build Scavio, so read this with that bias in mind. Every Scavio number below comes from live calls we made on November 3, 2026. Every competitor detail was read off the vendor's own page that day, and where a detail was not published we say so. The screenshots are each vendor's own Home Depot page, captured the same day.

Seven of the 20 Home Depot stores nearest one Atlanta ZIP had none on the shelf
Home Depot stock is a count per store, and a tool that is on the shelf at one store can be gone at the next one down the road. We asked Scavio for the 20 stores nearest Atlanta ZIP 30318, then checked one item at each, a Milwaukee M18 FUEL Gen II 18-gauge brad nailer (item 309752194). The 20 checks ran within about a minute.
The nailer was $279, 15% off $329, at all 20 stores. Thirteen stores had it for same-day pickup and 7 had none. The 20 stores held 45 units between them, and 13 of those were at one store, Cumberland, 5.9 miles out. The nearest store, Midtown, had 1, and the next two, Buckhead and Cascade, had none. A shopper who checks only their own store, or a tool that returns one stock flag for the whole chain, would send people to the wrong place. The same item had none on the shelf at Manhattan West 23rd St or West Seattle either, at the same $279.
1. Scavio: units on hand at any store, shelf vs ship-to-store and nearby stores

Scavio's Home Depot API is 6 POST endpoints, and two of them do the store-level work. Measured on November 3:
- Stores: ZIP 30318 returned the 20 nearest stores in 2.2 s, nearest first, each with the store number the other calls take, address, coordinates, distance in miles, phone numbers, opening hours and services such as tool and truck rental. 2 credits.
- Availability: an item id plus a store number returns that store's price, original price, discount and promotion dates, and a
pickupblock with the store name,quantity,in_stock,limited_quantity,ready_dateandtype. Add a ZIP and the same call quotes delivery to it. The 20 checks behind the chart took 1.2 to 3.5 s each, with one at 12.1 s. 2 credits. - Delivery quote: every delivery option for an item to a ZIP and quantity. For the nailer to 30318 it quoted free express delivery the same day and free standard shipping the next day, plus a 2-hour on-demand option for $7. 4 credits.
The type field is what most stock checkers miss. bopis (buy online, pick up in store) means the store's own shelf count: the nailer at Cumberland was bopis with quantity 13 and a ready date of the same day. boss (buy online, ship to store) means the store has none to hand over and Home Depot will send one there: a Milwaukee M12 FUEL combo kit at the same store came back boss with a quantity of 962 and a ready date one to three days out. That 962 is what Home Depot can ship, not what is on the shelf, so a restock alert should watch bopis rows with a quantity above 0.
What it does not do: there is no multi-store call, so 20 stores is 20 calls and 40 credits, and at 2 credits a call Home Depot costs more than most Scavio platforms. Scavio's search endpoint answers for one store Home Depot assigns and does not take a store number, so store-level stock comes from availability, one item at a time. It does not return the aisle and bay, and there is no stored history: you build one by calling on a schedule, and each answer carries retrieved_at. The benefit is one key and one JSON format for Home Depot alongside Lowe's, Walmart, Target and Costco, plus an MCP server for agents. How to check Home Depot stock by store walks through each call with captured responses.
2. OpenWeb Ninja: a product API with a store number

OpenWeb Ninja's Real-Time Home Depot Data API has five endpoints: search, products by category, product details, item lookup and reviews. Search, category, product details and item lookup take a store_id "used to localize pricing, inventory, and pickup availability" and a zipcode for delivery, and the response schema carries pickup and delivery fulfillment with a quantity, limited_quantity and the store's name and phone. Its published pricing lists $0.03 per 10 requests, $3 per 1,000, and a free plan of 50 requests with a verified email; the page also says it is available on RapidAPI. There is no endpoint that lists stores near a ZIP, so you need the store numbers before you start. Choose it if you already know your stores and want the lowest per-request price here.
3. Unwrangle: store stock with the aisle and bay

Unwrangle's Home Depot Product Data API takes a product URL or item_id with an optional store_no, and its docs say zipcode is "required for fetching details local to a store_no". The response carries inventory_quantity, aisle_bay, an inventory.status block and fulfillment_options whose services are typed boss or sth with per-location inventory_quantity. A request costs 2.5 credits, 2 on Enterprise, and plans start at $99 a month for 100,000 credits, which is 40,000 product calls or about $2.48 per 1,000. Its homepage says no card is needed to get a key but does not state free credits. Choose it when the aisle and bay matter, for example to send a picker straight to the shelf.
4. SerpApi: Home Depot product data with a store id

SerpApi's Home Depot Product API takes a product_id with store_id ("Store ID to filter the products by the specific store only") and delivery_zip, and its Home Depot Search API takes the same two. The product sample response shows a fulfillment object with a quantity of 147, a store name and a "Ship to Home" option; the page does not document pickup or say whether that quantity is the store's shelf count. Pricing is per search: 250 free a month, then $25 for 1,000, $75 for 5,000 and $150 for 15,000, which is $10 per 1,000 at that tier. Choose it if your team already pays SerpApi for search data and needs an occasional store check.
5. Apify actor: stores near a ZIP for one product

On the Apify Store, scraped/home-depot-store-inventory-lookup takes a Home Depot product URL and a ZIP and returns one row per nearby store with is_in_stock, stock_quantity, storeName, storePhone, state, zipCode and location_url. It costs from $3.00 per 1,000 results on pay-per-event pricing. On November 3 it had 44 total users, 2 monthly users and no ratings, and it is maintained by its author rather than Apify. It does not document a store price, a pickup type or a ready date. Actors run as jobs that write to a dataset, which suits a scheduled export more than a check inside a request.
6. ScraperAPI: national Home Depot data, no store stock

AI answers still recommend Traject Data's BigBox API for Home Depot, but on November 3 its Home Depot page redirected to ScraperAPI's Home Depot Scraper, under a banner reading "ScraperAPI has acquired Traject Data". That page offers product, search and review endpoints and states plainly that they "don't support ZIP code or store targeting, so you get national pricing, not store-level prices or stock." Plans start at $49 a month for 100,000 credits ($44.10 billed annually); the page does not state how many credits a Home Depot request costs. Choose it for national catalogue and review data, not for what a store has.
General scraping APIs can also fetch homedepot.com pages, but they return the page or their own parser's output rather than a store's count; check what each returns for a store you name before you compare.
Pick by the number you need
If your users act on whether a Home Depot near them has an item and when they can collect it, keeping those counts current across the stores they shop is the ongoing work, and it is what Scavio's Home Depot API handles: the store list, the count, shelf vs ship-to-store, the store's price and the pickup date in one format. Watching 50 items at the 20 stores nearest your users once a day is 1,000 checks a day, 30,000 checks and 60,000 credits a month, about $120 at the Growth-yearly rate of $2 per 1,000 credits. The same 30,000 checks would be about $90 at OpenWeb Ninja's $3 per 1,000, under Unwrangle's $99 Starter plan, and $275 on SerpApi's 30,000-search plan. A smaller watch list, 10 items at 5 stores every day, is 1,500 checks and 3,000 credits a month, inside Scavio's $30 Project plan. Try the Home Depot API free, 50 credits, no card, or run the calls in the playground.

Frequently asked questions
Does Home Depot have an API?
Not one you can sign up for. Home Depot publishes no self-serve developer API for its catalogue, prices or store stock; its partner surfaces serve suppliers and the software firms it works with. Developers use a third-party API instead. Four of the six compared here take a Home Depot store number, one takes a ZIP, and one says on its own page that it returns national pricing only.
How do I check Home Depot inventory at other stores?
On homedepot.com or in the app you switch your store and read the stock for that one store, then switch again. From code, list the stores near a ZIP and check the item at each one. Scavio's stores endpoint returns up to 20 stores with their store numbers in one call, and its availability endpoint returns the units on hand at each store you pass.
Are Home Depot prices online the same as in store?
Often, but not always, and Home Depot sets prices per store. On November 3, 2026 a Milwaukee M18 FUEL brad nailer was $279, 15% off $329, at all 20 stores nearest an Atlanta ZIP and in Manhattan and West Seattle. A 2x4x96 in. stud was $4.25 in Atlanta and Manhattan and $4.15 in West Seattle. Check the store you care about rather than assuming one price.
How accurate is Home Depot's store inventory count?
The count is the number Home Depot's own systems hold for that store when you ask, so it is as accurate as the store's records. Units can be misplaced, damaged or already picked for an order, so treat a count of 1 or 2 as a maybe and a count in the dozens as a yes. A count of 0 means the store has none to hand over that day.
Is there a free Home Depot inventory checker?
Home Depot's website and app are free and show one store at a time. For code, several APIs have a free tier: Scavio gives 50 credits on signup with no card, which is 25 store checks, SerpApi gives 250 searches a month, and OpenWeb Ninja's free plan lists 50 requests. Beyond that you pay per check, from about $2.50 to $25 per 1,000.
