For Dollar General stock and prices inside an app, a restock alert or an AI agent, start with Scavio's Dollar General API. It is the one option here that turns a ZIP code and a UPC into the units on hand at up to 25 nearby stores in a single call, prices search results at the store you pick, and pages the sale items, clearance and current digital coupons, all behind one key. Every call costs 1 credit, and Scavio starts from $2 per 1,000 requests on the Growth plan billed yearly.
You need a third-party source because Dollar General has no public developer API. Its partner portals serve vendors and suppliers rather than developers, and dollargeneral.com shows stock one store and one product at a time.
We build Scavio, so read this with that bias in mind. Every Scavio number below comes from live calls we made on October 31, 2026. Every competitor detail was read off the vendor's own page or listing that day, and where a detail was not published we say so. The screenshots are each vendor's own Dollar General page, captured the same day.

Dollar General stock is a store-by-store question
Dollar General runs more than 20,000 stores, and each one carries its own count of every item. The store nearest you having none says little about the next one down the road. We took three products and asked Scavio's stores endpoint for each one's count at the 25 stores nearest Dallas ZIP 75203: three calls, 3 credits.
The 8-inch Pikachu plush was on hand at 7 of the 25 stores, 19 units in all. The two stores closest to the ZIP, at 0.8 and 2.3 miles, had none; the nearest with any was 3.6 miles away, with 2, and no store had more than 4. Bounty Select-A-Size 6 Double Plus Rolls was in stock at 21 of 25, from 1 to 13 units, with the 13 at an Irving store 8.7 miles out. Store-by-store checking on dollargeneral.com would have taken 25 lookups per product.
The third row is the warning. Doritos Nacho Cheese read exactly 5 units at all 25 stores, and so did 23 of the 24 Doritos results in a search at one store and all 24 Lay's results at another. A count that never varies is not a shelf count, so a stock checker should flag it rather than send someone to the store. Shoppers already distrust the numbers: on r/DollarGeneral, a thread with 38 comments asks why stock "will show 4 or 10 normally, and there is none in store". Store employees in that thread point to theft, warehouse mistakes, cases delivered to the wrong store and counts that some items do not let them correct. Any API that reads Dollar General's stock inherits those limits, Scavio included.
1. Scavio: units on hand at 25 stores, store prices, deals and coupons

Scavio's Dollar General API is 5 POST endpoints, each 1 credit. Measured on October 31:
- Stores: ZIP 75203 returned the 25 nearest of 117 stores within 25 miles, each with store id, address, phone, coordinates, distance, daily hours and services such as "DG Delivery" and "Fresh Produce". Add a
upcand every store also getsquantity,in_stock,inventory_statusand pickup and delivery flags; those calls took 2.1 to 3.2 s. - Search: "paper towels" at store 12629 in Dallas returned 24 of 64 results in 4.2 s, each with that store's
priceandoriginal_price,available_quantity, rating, review count and the digital coupons that apply. Bounty Select-A-Size was $14.95, down from $16.75, with 3 on hand and a $2.00 manufacturer coupon attached.in_stock_onlydrops items the store does not have. - Product: the same UPC at the same store returned the price, 3 units on hand, Dollar General's own count of nearby stores with stock (18), the SKU, unit size, description, highlights, images and category path, in 11.0 s.
- Deals: store 12629 listed 5,927 on-sale items over 247 pages and 2,148 items in the clearance event, 24 a page with the store's price and units on hand. Clearance rows carry the current price only, such as a 16 oz Freez Pak Icicle at $0.30 with 12 on hand.
- Coupons: 360 current digital coupons, 30 a page; the first page held 15
AmountOffand 15Cashbackoffers, 18 of them manufacturer coupons.
What it does not do: one stores call covers 25 stores, so a wider area means several calls from different ZIPs, and there is no built-in change tracking; you schedule calls and diff them yourself. The counts are Dollar General's system numbers, with the limits described above. There is no review text, only rating and review count, and coverage is the US. The benefit is one key and one JSON format for Dollar General alongside Walmart, Target, Kroger and Sam's Club, plus an MCP server for agents. How to get Dollar General product data and store stock walks through each call with captured responses.
2. Apify actors: stock checks on a schedule

The Dollar General Stock Checker actor is the closest match to Scavio's stores call: it takes a ZIP or coordinates with a keyword, product URL or UPC and returns units in stock, stock status, price, sale price and the store's address, phone and hours, for up to 100 stores per ZIP (10 by default). An "Only report changes" mode returns just restocks, sell-outs and price changes on scheduled runs. It costs $0.39 per 1,000 product-at-store rows on Apify's Free and Bronze plans, $0.35 on Silver and $0.31 on Gold and above, plus $0.001 a run. It had 21 users, 393 runs and no ratings yet. A second actor, Dollar General Products, Prices & Store Scraper, covers search, product detail and the store directory with store-aware prices and stock flags, from $0.40 per 1,000 results plus Apify platform usage. Each actor is maintained by one developer, so pin the one you test.
3. Bright Data: catalogue records by URL

Bright Data's Dollar General Scraper API takes up to 5,000 product URLs per call, with a separate collector that discovers products from the sitemap. The fields its page lists are product title, description, brand, category, category tree, item id, variant id and URL; the page does not list price, stock or store fields. It costs $1.50 per 1,000 records pay-as-you-go or $499 a month for 384,000 records, with 5,000 free records a month, and the page carried a 60% discount code for three months. Choose it for a catalogue file of what Dollar General sells, not for what a given store has.
4. Channel3: Dollar General inside a cross-retailer search

Channel3 offers structured product data for dollargeneral.com as part of one search API across many retailers, aimed at AI shopping agents. Its page lists normalized titles, images, prices and merchant URLs, with 1,000 free searches a month and no card; paid pricing was not published. It documents no store selection, unit counts or coupons. Choose it when Dollar General is one merchant among many in a shopping assistant.
5. ScrapeHero: every store location as a file

ScrapeHero sells a Dollar General store locations dataset: 20,977 US stores, last updated September 17, 2026, with store number, address, phone, latitude and longitude, opening hours and status, as CSV or Excel for $45 one-time. A subscription for updates is offered at a discount, without a published price. It holds no product, price or stock data. Choose it for maps and site research that need every store at once; Scavio's stores endpoint returns the same kind of fields 25 stores at a time, around any ZIP.
6. Actowiz: managed delivery

Actowiz runs Dollar General data collection as a managed service, delivered as CSV, JSON or Parquet, by REST API, or into S3, BigQuery or Snowflake. Its field list covers current and list price, coupon value, ratings and reviews, stock status and "location-based availability", without saying whether that means individual stores. Plans start at $500 a month for up to 5,000 records with a weekly refresh, and $2,000 for 50,000 records refreshed daily. Choose it if you want a vendor to own the pipeline end to end.
Pick by the number you need
If your users act on whether a specific Dollar General has an item, keeping those counts current is the ongoing work, and it is what Scavio's Dollar General API handles. Checking 100 UPCs around 10 ZIP codes twice a day is 2,000 stores calls a day, about 60,000 credits a month: $120 at the Growth-yearly rate of $2 per 1,000 credits, for 50,000 store counts a day. Billed per product-at-store row at $0.39 per 1,000, the same 1.5 million rows a month would be about $585. For one region and a short watch list, 20 UPCs at one ZIP once a day is 600 credits a month. Try the Dollar General API free, 50 credits, no card, or try the endpoints in the playground.

Frequently asked questions
Does Dollar General have a public API?
No. Dollar General publishes no open developer API for product, price, stock or coupon data; its partner portals are for vendors and suppliers. Programmatic access comes from third-party providers such as Scavio's Dollar General API, Apify actors, Bright Data and Channel3, each covering a different slice of the data.
How do I check Dollar General inventory at other stores?
Look up the product's UPC, then ask for stock by ZIP code. Scavio's stores endpoint takes a ZIP and a UPC and returns up to 25 nearby stores, nearest first, each with the units on hand, address, distance and hours, in one 1-credit call. On October 31, 2026 an 8-inch Pikachu plush was in stock at 7 of the 25 stores nearest Dallas ZIP 75203.
Is Dollar General's online stock count accurate?
It is the store system's count, not a shelf scan, and shoppers on Reddit and Facebook regularly report driving to a store the app says has stock and finding none. Treat 1 or 2 units as a maybe, prefer stores with several units, and be wary of any number that is identical at every store: Doritos Nacho Cheese read exactly 5 at all 25 stores we checked, as did 47 of 48 Frito-Lay search results.
Can I get Dollar General digital coupons through an API?
Yes. Scavio's coupons endpoint pages Dollar General's current digital coupons, 30 at a time, with offer code, summary, brand, value, offer type (AmountOff or Cashback), minimum quantity and start and expiration dates; 360 were live on October 31, 2026. Search and product results also carry the coupons that apply to each item.
What is the cheapest Dollar General data API?
For stock across stores, it depends on how you count. Apify's Dollar General Stock Checker charges $0.39 per 1,000 product-at-store rows ($0.31 on higher Apify plans). Scavio charges per call, and one call returns 25 stores, so on the Growth plan billed yearly the same rows cost about $0.08 per 1,000. Bright Data is $1.50 per 1,000 catalogue records.
