Why not the official Trustpilot API?

Trustpilot's API is built for managing your own reviews. Reading other businesses is a separate, sales-led product.

Trustpilot's official APIs, and capped alternatives

  • Built for a business to read and reply to its own reviews, and bundled with paid Trustpilot business plans
  • Broad access to other businesses' review data is licensed separately through Trustpilot's sales team
  • DataForSEO documents a 200-review depth limit per Trustpilot business since October 2025
  • Its public Business Units API looks businesses up, but has no endpoint for their reviews

Scavio Trustpilot API

  • Any public business, competitor or prospect, with no Trustpilot business account
  • 200 reviews per filter combination, documented, with stars, language, date range, topic and text filters to slice by
  • Reply rate, days to reply, claimed status and published email and phone in the same JSON
  • One key, 2 credits per call, 50 free credits on signup, the same envelope as every Scavio platform

Third-party coverage is based on each vendor's public documentation as of October 2026. Scavio returns publicly available data only.

How to get Trustpilot data as JSON

  1. 1

    Get an API key

Sign up for a Scavio account and copy your key from the dashboard. You get 50 credits free on signup, with no card required and no Trustpilot business account.

  2. 2

    Find the business domain

Send {"query": "vpn"} to https://api.scavio.dev/api/v1/trustpilot/search with an Authorization: Bearer header. Each business comes back with the domain Trustpilot lists it under.

  3. 3

    Pull the profile and reviews

Pass that domain to the business endpoint for the full profile, or to the reviews endpoint with stars, language and date_range filters. Every response wraps the payload under data, with credits_used and credits_remaining.

Trustpilot API FAQ

Is the Trustpilot API free?

+

Trustpilot's own API needs a Premium plan with the API module add-on or an Enterprise plan, per Trustpilot's help center. Scavio's Trustpilot API gives 50 free credits on signup, enough for 25 calls, with no card required.

Is there a Trustpilot API?

+

Trustpilot has official APIs, but they are built for a business to read and reply to its own reviews and come with paid Trustpilot business plans; broad access to other businesses' data is licensed separately. The Scavio Trustpilot API is a REST API that returns public Trustpilot data for any business as JSON: business search, full profiles, filtered reviews, categories, category rankings and single reviews, 6 endpoints at 2 credits each.

Can I get all reviews for a business?

+

Not always. Trustpilot serves at most 10 pages of 20 reviews, 200 in total, for any one combination of filters, and each response says so with max_page and total_filtered. Different combinations are separate sets, so querying each star rating and each language on its own reads up to 200 per slice; for most small and mid-size businesses that covers every review. For a large brand with more than 200 reviews in one star and language slice, you get the newest 200 of that slice (or the 200 most relevant), not its full history. The reviews docs walk through the slicing recipe. Step by step: export Trustpilot reviews past the 200-review limit.

How do I export Trustpilot reviews to CSV or JSON?

+

Call the reviews endpoint with the business domain and page from 1 to max_page. Each review comes back as a JSON object with review_id, rating, title, text, language, published and experience dates, verification, the reviewer's public summary and the business reply, so writing it to CSV is one row per review. Deduplicate on review_id when you combine filter slices.

Can I find businesses with a low TrustScore for outreach or lead generation?

+

Yes. Page through a category or a keyword search and filter on trust_score yourself: every row carries the TrustScore, review count, website, and the email and phone the business published. In our captured page of VPN Service businesses, 3 of 20 had a TrustScore under 2.5. The category endpoint's minimum star rating is a floor only, so low-rated businesses are filtered on your side. Add the business profile for reply rate and claimed status to qualify each prospect.

Does the API return a business's reply rate?

+

Yes. The business endpoint returns reply_behavior: the reply rate on negative reviews, average days to reply, how many negative reviews the business received and answered, and when it last replied. In our capture, NordVPN had replied to 1,196 of 1,206 negative reviews, a 99.2% reply rate, in 0.05 days on average.

Does it return business emails and phone numbers?

+

Only when the business published them on its Trustpilot profile. Search and category rows carry email and phone when present and null otherwise, and the business endpoint adds a contact block with address, city and country.

Which languages are supported?

+

Reviews in every language Trustpilot holds: filter with a 2-letter language code, or use all. The business endpoint lists the review count per language (NordVPN had reviews in 41 languages in our capture). Trustpilot's AI summary and topics come back in the language you ask for when Trustpilot has them for it, for example English and German, and are null otherwise.

How much does the Trustpilot API cost?

+

Every Trustpilot endpoint costs 2 credits per call. A reviews call returns 20 reviews, so 200 reviews (one full filter slice) cost 20 credits, and a search call can return up to 100 businesses. On the Growth plan billed yearly ($2 per 1,000 credits) that works out to about $0.20 per 1,000 reviews and $0.04 per 1,000 businesses. A request for a business, review or category that does not exist returns a 404 and costs 2 credits; temporary failures are not billed. New accounts get 50 free credits on signup with no card, and paid plans start at $30 per month for 7,000 credits.

Can I tell claimed and unclaimed Trustpilot profiles apart?

+

Yes. The business endpoint returns claimed and claimed_at, plus the verification flags and whether the business collects incentivised reviews. The category endpoint takes claimed_only to list claimed profiles only; unclaimed profiles are the ones it leaves out.

Is it legal to use Trustpilot data?

+

Scavio returns publicly available Trustpilot data: what anyone can see on a public Trustpilot page. It does not access business accounts or any reviewer's private data. Whether your specific use is permitted depends on your jurisdiction, your use case and Trustpilot's terms, and you remain responsible for how you use the data. This is not legal advice; talk to your own counsel for your situation.

How fresh is the data?

+

Every request reads Trustpilot live at the moment you call it, so the TrustScore, review counts, reply rate and newest reviews reflect what Trustpilot shows at that time. Nothing is served from a nightly snapshot. There is no TrustScore history endpoint; to build one, store the business response on a schedule.

What is the minimum TrustScore filter on categories?

+

min_trust_score takes 3, 4 or 4.5 and filters on Trustpilot's star rating, which rounds the TrustScore: a minimum of 4 also includes businesses with a TrustScore of 3.8 or 3.9, shown as 4 stars. For an exact threshold, filter on the trust_score field in each row.

Which languages and tools can I call it from?

+

Every endpoint is a plain HTTPS POST with a JSON body, so any programming language works. Scavio also ships Python and JavaScript SDKs, a remote MCP server for AI agents and an n8n community node, all on the same API key.
