Can You Get Booking.com Hotel Rates and Availability Without Partner Access? Yes, Here Is How

Yes. Scavio's Booking.com API returns live rates, availability and room types for any hotel and dates as JSON, for 1 credit a call, with no partner approval.

Yes. You can get live Booking.com hotel rates, availability and room types through an API without Booking.com partner access. Scavio's Booking.com API takes a destination or a hotel URL with check-in and check-out dates and returns, as JSON, the price for that stay, whether the property is sold out, and every room type with its rate plans, cancellation terms and taxes. POST /api/v1/booking/search covers a whole city and /api/v1/booking/hotel one property; each call is 1 credit, about $0.002 on the Growth plan billed yearly, with a key issued at signup.

The question comes up on Reddit often. A developer on r/webscraping asked whether anyone had pulled reliable hotel rates from Booking.com: price, availability and maybe room types for a personal project. Scraping the site directly had been a mess, they had signed up for the official Rates & Availability API without getting access, and support had not answered. They wanted something that did not mean "jumping through a million hoops". The thread has 17 comments and no posted solution.

Why the official route did not work

The Rates & Availability API the poster tried is a Connectivity API. It exists to set a property's own inventory, pricing and restrictions on Booking.com, with certification before go-live, so it sends rates to Booking.com rather than reading other hotels' rates. The API that does read search, availability and prices is the Demand API, and it requires you to be a Managed Affiliate Partner, with Partner Centre access issued by your Booking.com account manager after a signed contract. For a personal or research project, neither is realistic. Booking.com's public pages show every rate and room to any visitor, and that is what Scavio reads.

Step 1: Rates and availability for a whole city

Bash
curl -s https://api.scavio.dev/api/v1/booking/search \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SCAVIO_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"destination": "New York", "checkin": "2026-11-10", "checkout": "2026-11-11", "adults": 2, "currency": "USD"}'

Booking.com counted 463 properties for the night of November 10, and the call returned the first 20 in 9.9 s. Each row has price, room_name, free_cancellation and its deadline, review_score, star_rating and the hotel url. The same search counted 317 properties for New Year's Eve and 498 for Tuesday, January 12, 2027, so total_results across dates is itself a signal of how tight a city is. Send checkin and checkout together, because Booking ignores a lone check-in date and prices dates of its own choosing.

Step 2: Room types and rate plans for one hotel

Pass a row's url with the same dates:

Bash
curl -s https://api.scavio.dev/api/v1/booking/hotel \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SCAVIO_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"hotel": "https://www.booking.com/hotel/us/edison-triumph-group.html", "checkin": "2027-01-12", "checkout": "2027-01-13", "adults": 2, "currency": "USD"}'

Hotel Edison Times Square came back with 22 room types and 30 bookable offers in 3.3 s. The response echoes the stay and summarises it, as captured:

JSON
{
  "name": "Hotel Edison Times Square",
  "checkin": "2027-01-12",
  "checkout": "2027-01-13",
  "nights": 1,
  "adults": 2,
  "currency": "USD",
  "price_from": 158.26,
  "is_sold_out": false,
  "review_score": 8.1,
  "review_count": 12723
}

Each room in rooms[] has its name, size, bed configuration, maximum guests and amenities, and each of its offers[] has price, price_with_charges, the itemised taxes, cancellation_type and meal_plan. The cheapest offer, a non-refundable Signature 1 Queen Bed with breakfast, was $158.26 plus a 14.75% tax and a $3.50 city tax: $185.10 in all. The free-cancellation version of the same room was $194.00.

Step 3: Check the dates that matter

Availability changes as fast as price. We ran the hotel call for six New York hotels on five nights. DoubleTree Times Square West was sold out on November 14, Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve, and bookable from $379.98 on November 10 and $207.36 on January 12. A sold-out night returns is_sold_out: true, a null price_from and rooms with no offers. Hotel Edison went from $185.10 on January 12 to $942.45 on New Year's Eve. What "live" means here, and its limits

  • Live, not cached: each call reads Booking.com for your dates and guests when you make it, so the rate is the one a guest sees at that moment.
  • Compare all-in prices: search prices can be before or after tax depending on the property. Use price_with_charges from the hotel call when you compare.
  • No history: there is no stored price series. Call on a schedule and keep each response; it records the dates and occupancy it priced.
  • Read-only: it returns what Booking.com displays. Making a booking needs a distribution agreement with Booking.com or the property.

Checking 50 hotels for each of the next 30 nights once a day is 1,500 calls and 1,500 credits a day, about 45,000 a month: $90 on the Growth plan billed yearly. Pricing a city through search instead, one call per date, cuts that to 30 credits a day.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Booking.com's Rates & Availability API to read hotel prices?

No. Booking.com's Rates & Availability API is a Connectivity API for setting a property's own inventory, prices and restrictions on Booking.com, with certification and go-live requirements. It sends rates to Booking.com; it does not read other hotels' rates. Reading live prices officially needs the Demand API, which is for Managed Affiliate Partners under contract.

How long does Booking.com affiliate or Demand API approval take?

Booking.com does not publish a timeline. Its Demand API prerequisites say Partner Centre access is provided by your Booking.com account manager after the agreed contract is signed, and Reddit threads from developers waiting on approval are common. Third-party APIs such as Scavio's Booking.com API work with a key issued at signup.

Does the Booking.com API show whether a hotel is sold out?

Yes. Scavio's hotel endpoint returns is_sold_out for the dates you ask for, and room types with no offers when nothing is left. On October 27, 2026, DoubleTree Times Square West was sold out on three of five nights we checked, including New Year's Eve, and bookable from $207.36 all-in on January 12, 2027.

How fresh are the rates?

Each call reads Booking.com when you make it, for the dates and guests you pass, so the rate is what a guest sees at that moment. There is no stored history: to track prices over time, call on a schedule and store each response, which echoes the dates and occupancy it priced.
