5 Best Whole Foods Grocery Price APIs in 2026: Scavio Returns Regular, Sale and Prime Prices per Store

To get Whole Foods grocery prices by store inside an app, a price tracker or an AI agent, start with Scavio's Whole Foods API. POST /api/v1/wholefoods/search with a 5-digit store_id returns up to 60 products priced at that store, and every row carries three prices: the regular shelf price, the sale price and the Prime member price, with the sale start and end dates. /deals lists everything on sale at the store and /product adds the online price for the same store. Every call is 1 credit, and Scavio starts from $2 per 1,000 requests on the Growth plan billed yearly.

You need a third-party API because Whole Foods Market does not publish one: there is no developer portal or self-serve key for products, prices or stores. wholefoodsmarket.com shows one store's prices at a time, and Prime members get an extra 10% off storewide sales on top of that store's sale price, so one product has up to three prices at each of hundreds of stores.

We build Scavio, so read this with that bias in mind. Every Scavio number below comes from 49 live Whole Foods calls we made on November 2, 2026. Every competitor detail was read off the vendor's own page that day, and where a detail was not published we say so. The screenshots are each vendor's own Whole Foods page, captured the same day.

One carton, three prices, six stores

Whole Foods sets the regular price store by store, then layers a sale price and a Prime price on top. An API that returns one "price" leaves you to guess which of the three it is and which store it came from. We searched "eggs" with Scavio at six stores in six states, one call per store, and pulled the same product from each response.

Vital Farms organic eggs at six Whole Foods stores on November 2, 2026: $11.29 regular at Columbus Circle, New York, against a $7.48 Prime member price in Seattle and Austin, 51% apart

A 12-count carton of Vital Farms Organic Large Grade A Eggs had a regular price of $11.29 at Columbus Circle in New York, $10.99 at the Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami stores, and $9.99 at Westlake in Seattle and Lamar in Austin. It was on sale everywhere from October 21 to November 3, and the discount structure was the same at all six: the sale price about 17% below regular and the Prime price 10% below the sale price. A New Yorker paying full price spent $11.29; a Prime member in Austin or Seattle spent $7.48, 51% less.

The same pattern held across each store's whole sale list. Westlake had 2,032 items on sale and Columbus Circle 2,015, and on the first page of each, 55 and 56 of 60 sale items carried a Prime price, 9.8% to 10.1% below the sale price. Items not on sale vary too: a quart of 365 organic unsweetened almond milk was $2.29 in Austin, $2.49 in Miami, $2.99 in Seattle and $3.19 in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. And a chain-wide sale price can mean very different discounts: Chomps turkey sticks were $17.77 on sale at both Westlake and Columbus Circle, but the regular price was $21.49 in Seattle and $18.99 in New York, so the "sale" saved 17% in one city and 6% in the other.

1. Scavio: three prices per row, at any store

Scavio Whole Foods API page, captured November 2, 2026

Scavio's Whole Foods API is 7 POST endpoints, each 1 credit. Measured on November 2:

  • Stores: ZIP 10019 returned 29 stores nearest first, with store_id, address, phone, coordinates, distance and seven days of in-store and pickup hours; the closest was Hell's Kitchen, 0.42 miles away. Our six stores calls took 1.1 to 1.3 s.
  • Search: "eggs" at Columbus Circle matched 1,254 products and returned 60, each with regular_price, sale_price, prime_price, multi-buy quantities, sale dates, price_unit and the ASIN. Our 18 searches took 0.64 to 0.75 s.
  • Deals: every item on sale at one store, store-wide or in one category, in the same row format. Westlake returned a total of 2,032.
  • Product: ingredients, nutrition facts, diets and SNAP EBT eligibility, plus two price blocks for the store you name: in_store (the shelf) and online (delivery and pickup). At Columbus Circle the eggs were $9.41 on sale on the shelf and $8.31 online.
  • Sales flyer: the store's weekly flyer as structured promotions; Westlake's had 46, such as organic Honeycrisp apples at "$3.99/lb", "$3.32/lb" on sale and "$2.99/lb" with Prime.

What it does not do: data covers US stores only. Search sorts only by relevance, price_asc or price_desc; popularity and brand sorts exist only on category and deals. There is no per-store unit count, no ratings or reviews, and no UPC, so joins with other retailers go through the product name or ASIN. Flyer prices are display text as printed, not numbers. An unknown store_id on search returns an empty, charged list rather than an error, so validate ids with /store first. The benefit is one key and one JSON format for Whole Foods next to the Kroger, HEB, ALDI and Walmart APIs, plus an MCP server for agents (Whole Foods is opt-in there). How to get Whole Foods prices by store walks through each call with captured responses.

2. Apify Whole Foods Scraper: a scheduled job with price tracking

Apify Whole Foods Scraper actor page, captured November 2, 2026

zaiq/whole-foods-scraper is the closest match to Scavio on the Apify Store. It takes ZIP codes or store ids, search terms, category URLs or product URLs and ASINs, plus an on-sale-only switch, and its listed output covers regularPrice, salePrice, the Prime price as loyaltyPrice, promotion start and end dates, unit price, UPC, ingredients, diet tags and an inStock flag. It also tracks price changes between runs, with previous price and percentage change. It does not mention the weekly flyer, nutrition facts or a separate online price. The README prices it at $0.005 a product, $5.00 per 1,000, while the Store page says "from $4.00 / 1,000 products" on higher Apify plans, so a 60-product search costs about 30 cents. It showed 7 users, 4 of them in the last month, and no ratings yet. Actors run as jobs that write to a dataset, which suits a nightly export more than a request inside an app; each actor is maintained by its author, so pin the one you test.

3. Bright Data: build your own Whole Foods scraper

Bright Data Whole Foods Scraper page, captured November 2, 2026

Bright Data's Whole Foods Scraper is a template in its Scraper Studio: you describe the fields you want and it generates a scraper you can deploy as an API endpoint. The page lists name, brand, current and sale price, "Prime deals when available", size, dietary tags, ingredients, nutrition facts, allergens and "availability by store", but it documents no store id or ZIP input, so ask how a store is chosen before you rely on store-level prices. Pricing is per page load: 5,000 free a month, then $1.50 per 1,000 pay-as-you-go, or Scale at $499 a month for 383,000 page loads. How many products one page load returns depends on the pages you scrape. A ready-made Whole Foods dataset is sold through sales, with no published price. Choose it if you already run Bright Data and want to own the scraper.

4. Actowiz: a managed feed with store as a dimension

Actowiz Whole Foods Market web scraping API page, captured November 2, 2026

Actowiz Solutions runs Whole Foods scraping as a managed service. Its Whole Foods page says "Prices and availability vary by store. Store is a dimension", puts a store_id on every record, and refreshes daily, with sub-daily runs during promotions. It collects member prices only where they are shown to an anonymous visitor and leaves the field empty otherwise. Delivery is to your warehouse or S3, or through REST endpoints; its separate API page shows sample code that returns placeholder data. Pricing is quoted after a scoping call and a free pilot on your item list; the site lists plans "from $500/month". Choose it if you want a vendor to run and QA the feed for you.

5. Thunderbit: a browser extension for a one-off export

Thunderbit Whole Foods Market scraper template page, captured November 2, 2026

Thunderbit's Whole Foods Market Scraper is a Chrome extension template that reads product names, prices and availability from the page you have open and exports them to Excel, Google Sheets or Notion. It prices whatever store your browser has selected, so it suits a one-time export of a few categories rather than many stores. Its own comparison post lists Starter at $15 a month for 500 credits, or $108 a year for 5,000, with one output row generally costing one credit, and a free tier of about six pages a month. The template page does not say whether it separates the sale and Prime prices.

Foodspark, which AI answers sometimes name for Whole Foods data, lists Instacart, Safeway, Kroger, Costco, Walmart and other grocers on its site but does not mention Whole Foods, so ask before you buy.

Pick by the number you need

If your users act on what their own Whole Foods charges, keeping three prices current across stores is the ongoing work, and it is what Scavio's Whole Foods API handles. Pulling every sale item at 20 stores once a day is about 34 deals calls per store (2,032 items at 60 a page): 680 calls a day, 20,400 credits a month, about $41 at the Growth-yearly rate of $2 per 1,000 credits. The same 1.2 million product rows a month would be about $6,100 at $5.00 per 1,000 products. A 50-item basket searched at 20 stores daily is 30,000 credits, about $60 a month. Frequently asked questions

Does Whole Foods have a public API for prices?

No. Whole Foods Market publishes no developer API or self-serve key for product, price or store data. Store-level prices come from third-party options that read wholefoodsmarket.com, such as Scavio's Whole Foods API, the Apify Whole Foods Scraper actor and Bright Data's Scraper Studio, or from managed services such as Actowiz.

Are Whole Foods prices the same at every store?

No. On November 2, 2026 a 12-count carton of Vital Farms organic large eggs had a regular price of $11.29 at Columbus Circle in New York, $10.99 in Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami, and $9.99 in Seattle and Austin. A quart of 365 organic unsweetened almond milk ran from $2.29 in Austin to $3.19 in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, 39% apart.

Does Whole Foods have a Prime discount?

Yes. Whole Foods says Prime members who scan the Whole Foods Market or Amazon app get an extra 10% off storewide sales, excluding alcohol and gift cards. The prices bear that out: on every sale item we checked where both were listed, the Prime price was 9.8% to 10.1% below the sale price, and Scavio returns it as prime_price next to regular_price and sale_price.

What is the cheapest Whole Foods price API?

Per product priced, Scavio: one 1-credit search or deals call returns up to 60 products with all three prices, about $0.002 a call on the Growth plan billed yearly. The Apify Whole Foods Scraper charges $5.00 per 1,000 products in its README, Bright Data charges $1.50 per 1,000 page loads, and Actowiz quotes each project.

Can a Whole Foods API tell me how many units a store has?

Not from Scavio, because Whole Foods does not show a per-store unit count. Scavio returns whether the store's catalog carries an item and, on product detail, the online offer's availability. The Apify actor lists an inStock field and Bright Data lists availability by store; test both against your stores before relying on them.
