Paste a Menards item id (the number after p- in a menards.com URL) or a product URL. Live runs return the default-store price ladder without stock; the sample shown first was captured at store 3181. A run can take up to 15 seconds. 3 free runs, then it's your own key.

What is the Scavio Menards API?

The Scavio Menards API is a REST API that returns Menards product data as structured JSON. Menards has no public API. Its 3 POST endpoints cover keyword search at a store, product detail with the full price ladder, rebates included, plus a store's stock and aisle, and a store locator, from 1 credit per call.

3
endpoints, all live in production
1
credit per product call, 2 with a store's stock
4
price fields: everyday, sale, rebates, final

The Menards data buyers actually need

What it costs after the rebate, and whether the store down the road has it.

The full Menards price ladder

POST /api/v1/menards/product

Everyday price, sale price and sale end date, every mail-in rebate with its amount and dates, and the final price after rebate. Our capture priced a Southwire 7/8" hole cutter at $29.49, with an 11% rebate of $3.24 bringing it to $26.25.

Store stock and aisle

POST /api/v1/menards/product

Add a store_id and the same product call returns that store's stock quantity, stock message, aisle and section, service desk department and whether the store carries the item at all. Store 3181 had 3 on hand in Aisle 221 Section L.

Specs, images and documents

POST /api/v1/menards/product

Name, brand, model number, SKU, description, bullet points, the specification table, images, videos, documents and safety data sheets, plus pickup, delivery and ship-to-store flags.

Search a store's shelves

POST /api/v1/menards/search

Keyword search at the store you choose, 40 products a page, each with its price after rebate and that store's stock count. "sledge hammer" at St Paul Midway returned 27 products; the first, a Masterforce 12 lb. sledge, was $38.98, $34.69 after rebate, with 13 in stock.

All 3 Menards API endpoints

Every route is a POST, returns JSON, and takes the same API key. Search costs 2 credits; product costs 2 only when you pass a store_id.

Find a store, search it, then open a product

The stores call turns a ZIP into store numbers, search lists what that store has with prices after rebate and stock, and product adds specs and the aisle. The response on the right is a real product capture.

Why not the official Menards API?

Menards has no public API for product, price, stock or store data.

Menards, without an API

  • No public API or self-serve developer key for products, prices or stores
  • Search results, prices, rebates and stock render in the browser with no export
  • Store stock and aisle show only after choosing a store on the site
  • Mail-in rebates run for set dates and appear as page text, not data

Scavio Menards API

  • One API key, issued at signup, with no Menards account
  • Everyday price, sale price, each rebate and the final price as separate fields
  • Keyword search at any store, with stock on every result
  • Any store's stock quantity and aisle by store_id
  • Brand and model number on every product, for matching against Home Depot and Lowe's
  • Same JSON envelope as every other Scavio platform

Scavio returns publicly available data only, and never signs in as a Menards customer.

How to get Menards data as JSON

  1. 1

    Get an API key

Sign up for a Scavio account and copy your key from the dashboard. You get 50 credits free on signup, with no card required and no Menards account.

  2. 2

Pick a store and search it

Get a store number from /api/v1/menards/stores, then send {"query": "sledge hammer", "store_id": "3181"} to https://api.scavio.dev/api/v1/menards/search with an Authorization: Bearer header. Each result carries the price after rebate and that store's stock (2 credits).

  3. 3

Open one product for full detail

Pass a result's item_id, or any menards.com product URL, to /api/v1/menards/product for specifications, documents and, with store_id, the aisle location (1 credit, 2 with a store).

Menards API FAQ

Does Menards have a public API?

+

No. Menards does not offer a public developer API for product, price, stock or store data. The Scavio Menards API fills that gap with 3 POST endpoints that return menards.com data as structured JSON: keyword search at a store, product detail with the full price ladder and store stock, and a store locator.

What is the Scavio Menards API?

+

It is a REST API that returns public Menards product data as JSON: keyword search at a chosen store, everyday price, sale price, mail-in rebates, the final price after rebate, specifications and images, a store's stock quantity and aisle, and a store locator by ZIP or city. Search costs 2 credits, product 1 (2 with a store) and stores 1.

Can I search Menards by keyword?

+

Yes. POST a query and a store_id to /api/v1/menards/search. It returns 40 products a page with item id, price, sale price, the rebate, final price and that store's stock quantity, sorted by relevance, price or brand, and can be limited to items in stock today or a price range. "sledge hammer" at store 3181 returned 27 products. It costs 2 credits.

Does the API return the Menards 11% rebate?

+

Yes. rebates lists every mail-in rebate on the product with its text, amount, start and end dates and any limit, and final_price is the price after all of them. In our capture a $29.49 hole cutter carried an "11% REBATE*" of $3.24, for a final price of $26.25. price is what is paid at the register; the rebate is claimed after purchase.

How do I get Menards stock at a specific store?

+

Pass store_id with the product call. The response's store block then carries that store's stock_quantity, stock_message, aisle locations and service desk department, and not_available_at_store says whether that store sells the item. Store 3181 (St Paul Midway) had 3 units in Aisle 221 Section L.

Why do search and store_id calls cost 2 credits?

+

Reading Menards at a chosen store is a heavier request, so search and product with store_id cost 2 credits. Search answers in about 3 to 7 seconds; product with store_id typically takes 10 to 40. Product without store_id costs 1 credit and is priced for the site's default store with no stock fields. Set a client timeout of 60 seconds for store calls.

How do I find a Menards store number?

+

POST a ZIP code, or a city and 2-letter state, to /api/v1/menards/stores. It returns the stores nearest first with store_id, name, address, coordinates, distance in miles and services. ZIP 55401 returned 24 stores, the nearest store 3181 at 4.4 miles.

Does the API return UPC codes or ratings?

+

No. Menards does not publish UPC or GTIN codes, ratings or reviews on its product pages, so the API returns none. To match products across retailers use brand and model_number, which every product response carries.

Which store are Menards prices for?

+

With store_id, the price ladder is the one Menards shows for that store. Without it, prices are the ones menards.com shows for its default store, 3598, and the stock fields are empty. The response's store.store_id and store.selected say which store you were priced at.

What are the limitations?

+

Search needs a store_id and there is no category listing endpoint. Search results carry no model number or aisle; product has both. There are no UPCs, ratings or reviews. One call covers one store; there is no multi-store stock call. The store locator has no opening hours or phone numbers.

Can I look up a product by its menards.com URL?

+

Yes. Pass url instead of item_id: the long SEO URL from the address bar and the short /main/p-<item_id>.htm form both work.

How much does a Menards request cost?

+

Search costs 2 credits. Product costs 1 credit, or 2 credits with store_id. Stores costs 1 credit. Errors such as an unknown item or store (404 or 400) or a temporary outage (502) are not charged. New accounts get 50 free credits on signup, one time, with no card required. Paid plans start at $30 per month for 7,000 credits.

How fresh is the data?

+

Every request fetches live from Menards at the moment you call it, and nothing is cached. Each response carries fetched_at, the time the data was retrieved, and rebates carry their own start and end dates.

Is using Menards data legal?

+

Scavio returns publicly available Menards product data and does not access accounts or order history. You remain responsible for how you use the data, including compliance with Menards' terms. Talk to your own counsel for your specific use case.
