What Happened to HF Price Tracker? Track Harbor Freight Prices Yourself With an API

The Hazard Fraught Price Tracker stopped getting new Harbor Freight prices in 2026, and r/harborfreight users noticed. If you want a tracker you control, call Scavio's Harbor Freight API: POST /api/v1/harborfreight/prices with up to 50 item numbers returns today's shelf price, sale price and end date, clearance flag, coupon and Inside Track Club member price for each, and storing one row per item per day rebuilds the history from here on. Each call costs 1 credit, about $0.002 on the Growth plan billed yearly, and needs no Harbor Freight account.

In an October 20, 2026 thread with 51 upvotes and 21 comments, the poster said the tracker "stopped getting new data", that they had emailed the contact address with no reply, and asked whether there were alternatives. The top reply found the latest price for the DAYTONA long-reach floor jack dated April 2026 and wrong for today; another said the site was last updated in May 2026 and its email alerts had stopped. Nobody in the thread knew why. One commenter had already started building a replacement site.

What the stale tracker is missing today

The jack from that top reply is item 64781. We asked Scavio for its price on November 2, 2026, as part of a 50-item call:

Everyone pays $269.99, and Inside Track Club members pay $179.99, one per member, until December 3. Hazard Fraught's page for the same item showed $269.99 that day and no member price, and its newest dated coupon expired on October 9, 2024. The member deal is the one a jack buyer wants to know about, and it is exactly what a shelf-price-only record misses: of the 47 deals on the first page of Harbor Freight's coupon site that day, 27 were member prices like this one.

Build the tracker in three calls

1. Pick the items. Search by keyword or category with /api/v1/harborfreight/search; every row carries sku, the item number. "floor jack" returns all 20 jacks in Harbor Freight's Floor Jacks category.
2. Price them daily. Send up to 50 item numbers per call to /api/v1/harborfreight/prices and save price, regular_price, sale.price and sale.ends_at, coupon.price and member_deal.price with the date. 3. Check the shelf before you drive. /api/v1/harborfreight/availability with the item numbers and your ZIP returns in stock, limited, out of stock or not carried, and the aisle, at the nearest stores. Near downtown Houston the long-reach jack was in stock at 4 of the 5 nearest stores and limited at the fifth.

HF Tracker counted 8,999 tools on November 2. Pricing all of them once a day is 180 calls, 5,400 credits a month, about $10.77 at the Growth-yearly rate, and within the 7,000 credits of the $30-a-month plan. A personal watchlist of 50 tools is one call a day.

What to know before you rely on it

• No back history: the API returns today's prices, not an archive. What a tool cost last spring is not available from it; start saving now, and use Hazard Fraught's older pages for the years it covered.
• National prices: every Harbor Freight store charges the same price, so there is one price per item, not one per store. Stock is the part that differs by store.
• Separate deals: sale prices lower price; member prices and coupons do not, and Harbor Freight does not stack them into one final number. Store each one.
• Coupons when they run: coupon is null when Harbor Freight runs no public coupon on an item, which was the case for every item we priced on November 2; that week's deals ran as sales ending November 25 and member prices ending December 3.
• Stock is a daily snapshot: a status and an aisle, never a count, with the snapshot time in inventory_updated_at.
