Yes. Canadian Tire prices, clearance and stock differ from store to store, sometimes by hundreds of dollars on the same item. To check them without visiting each store page, use Scavio's Canadian Tire API: POST /api/v1/canadiantire/availability takes a store_id and up to 50 SKUs and returns each one's price, regular price, clearance flag, units on hand and aisle at that store, and /stores finds the store ids near any postal code. Each call costs 1 credit, about $0.002 on the Growth plan billed yearly.
The question is a Reddit perennial. An r/ontario thread titled "Canadian Tire has different prices by store?" drew 1,564 upvotes and 587 comments, and Google's AI Overview cites it when you ask the same thing. The top reply, with 825 points, was "Aren't they franchises basically?", and others described asking one store to match a cheaper Canadian Tire nearby. The follow-up question, asked in r/canadiantire, is how to find the lowest price across every store, and a developer in r/stocktrack asked whether there is an API for it at all.
Why the price depends on the store
Canadian Tire's corporate site describes each Dealer as the sole owner and operator of their store, with over 400 Dealers across the country. Clearance and local markdowns follow the store, and some regular prices follow the province. Canadian Tire's own developer portal is no route to the data: on October 31, 2026 its registration page said registration is currently disabled.
What one day of data shows
On October 31, 2026 we called Scavio's clearance endpoint once at each of six stores, and checked one item, the Dyson Corrale cord-free straightener (SKU 0438858), at all six with the availability endpoint.
| Store | Clearance items listed | Dyson Corrale price | Units on hand |
|---|---|---|---|
| 389 Vancouver Cambie & 7th, BC | 3,752 | $549.96 (clearance) | 2 |
| 44 Halifax Quinpool, NS | 3,094 | $649.99 (regular) | 0 |
| 621 Liberty Village, Toronto, ON | 2,788 | $329.93 (clearance) | 2 |
| 600 Toronto Eaton Centre, ON | 2,299 | $329.93 (clearance) | 39 |
| 930 Calgary Mount Royal, AB | 957 | $649.99 (regular) | 0 |
| 435 Montreal Downtown, QC | 840 | $329.93 (clearance) | 1 |
The same straightener cost $320.06 more in Calgary and Halifax than in Toronto or Montreal. It was not a one-off: we sent the first 50 clearance SKUs from Toronto Eaton Centre to Calgary Mount Royal in a single availability call, and only 8 were on clearance there. Toronto was cheaper on the other 42 and never dearer, by $5,097.54 in total, led by a De'Longhi Magnifica Start espresso machine at $499.93 against $849.99. Regular prices move by province too: the DeWalt DCK277D2 combo kit was $199.99 at the five stores outside Quebec and $200.64 in Montreal.
The three calls
- Find the stores.
POST /api/v1/canadiantire/storeswith a postal code returns nearby stores with theirstore_id, address, hours and distance. Add askuand each store also gets its units on hand and aisle for that item. - Price your list at each store.
POST /api/v1/canadiantire/availabilitytakes astore_idand up to 50 SKUs and returns price,was_price,is_clearance,price_valid_until,quantityandaislefor each. - See everything on clearance.
POST /api/v1/canadiantire/clearancewith astore_idreturns that store's clearance items 100 per page, withtotal_resultsfor the whole store.
from scavio import ScavioClient
client = ScavioClient(api_key="YOUR_SCAVIO_API_KEY")
skus = ["0438858", "0547273"] # up to 50
stores = client.canadian_tire.stores(postal_code="M5V 2T6", limit=5)["data"]["stores"]
for store in stores:
items = client.canadian_tire.availability(store_id=store["store_id"], skus=skus)["data"]["items"]
for it in items:
print(store["name"], it["sku"], it["price"], "clearance" if it["is_clearance"] else "", it["quantity"], it["aisle"])Five stores and a 50-item list is 6 credits. In our tests each availability call took 1.0 to 3.7 seconds, and each clearance page 1.9 to 8.2 seconds.
What to watch for
- Clearance rows can be sold out. Check
store_quantity: on Toronto Eaton Centre's first clearance page, 77 of 100 rows had units on hand. - Clearance prices tend to end in .93. 386 of the 537 clearance prices on the six stores' first pages did, though the data gives you
is_clearancedirectly, so you do not have to rely on the ending. - A price match is the store's call. Replies in both Reddit threads disagree on whether stores match each other, and one says clearance is generally excluded. The API gives you the other store's current price and number to show at the till; whether they honour it is up to them.
- Not covered: review text, the printed flyer (use
/api/v1/canadiantire/dealsfor sale, instant-rebate and special-buy items instead), Sport Chek and Mark's.
Try the Canadian Tire API free, 50 credits, no card, enough to price a 50-item list at a few dozen stores, or run a store's clearance in the playground.

Frequently asked questions
Why does Canadian Tire have different prices at different stores?
Canadian Tire's corporate site describes each Dealer as the sole owner and operator of their store, and clearance, markdowns and stock are set store by store. Regular prices can differ by province as well: on October 31, 2026 a DeWalt DCK277D2 kit was $199.99 in Ontario, Alberta, BC and Nova Scotia and $200.64 in Montreal.
How do I find the cheapest Canadian Tire store for an item?
Get the item's 7-digit SKU, list the stores near you, then check the SKU's price at each. With Scavio that is one stores call for the store ids and one availability call per store, and each availability call can carry 50 SKUs, so a whole shopping list costs one credit per store.
Is Canadian Tire clearance the same at every store?
No. On October 31, 2026 Vancouver Cambie & 7th listed 3,752 clearance items and Montreal Downtown 840. Of 50 clearance items at Toronto Eaton Centre, only 8 were also on clearance at Calgary Mount Royal.
Will Canadian Tire match another Canadian Tire store's price?
It depends on the store. Replies in the Reddit threads disagree: some say stores decide case by case, and one says clearance is generally excluded. Ask your store, and bring the other store's current price; Scavio's availability call shows it with the store number and the date a sale price ends.
Does Canadian Tire have an API for store prices?
Not one you can join: its developer portal's registration page said registration is currently disabled on October 31, 2026. Scavio's Canadian Tire API returns any store's price, regular price, clearance flag, units on hand and aisle for 1 credit a call.
