6 Best Zillow Property Data APIs in 2026: Why Scavio Is the Best Fit Without Zillow Partner Access

Scavio ranks #1 of 6 Zillow property data APIs if you have no partner deal: sold prices, rentals, Zestimates, price history and agent reviews, 1 credit a call.

If you need Zillow listing and property data and do not have a Zillow partner agreement, start with Scavio's Zillow API. With an API key issued at signup, its search endpoint returns for-sale, rental or recently sold listings for any city or ZIP, about 41 to a page with price, beds, baths, square footage and sale date, and its property endpoint returns one home's Zestimate, Rent Zestimate and dated price history. A third endpoint returns a Zillow agent's profile and reviews. Every call costs 1 credit, $2 per 1,000 requests on the Growth plan billed yearly.

Zillow's own data does exist as an API, but not for everyone. The Zillow Group developer portal lists Zestimates, Public Records, MLS Listings and agent Reviews APIs, documented on Bridge Interactive. The Zestimates API "is really for commercial use cases by businesses" and is requested through a form, and the MLS Listings API is "currently invite only", with access at the discretion of each MLS partner. No price is published. If your company qualifies, that is the licensed route. If you are building a product, a model or an agent tool and need data this week, you need a third-party API.

We build Scavio, so read this with that bias in mind. Every Scavio number below comes from live calls we made on October 27, 2026. Every competitor detail was read off the vendor's own page that day, and where a detail was not published we say so. The screenshots are each vendor's own page, captured the same day.

What a square foot sold for, and where Zillow shows nothing

Sold prices are the comps that valuations, investor screens and pricing models rest on, and through Zillow's own APIs they sit behind partner approval. We ran one Scavio sold search in each of six cities on October 27 and kept the single-family homes.

Sold price per square foot of single-family homes in five cities from Zillow sold listings, October 20-26, 2026: median $582 in Seattle, $349 in Denver, $257 in Phoenix, $238 in Atlanta and $185 in Columbus; Austin returned no sale prices

The median single-family home sold that week went for $582 a square foot in Seattle (31 sales), $349 in Denver (28), $257 in Phoenix (28), $238 in Atlanta (23) and $185 in Columbus (34): 3.1 times as much per square foot in Seattle as in Columbus. The spread inside one city is as wide as the spread between cities. Seattle sales ran from $239 to $806 a square foot, which is why comps are pulled by ZIP rather than by metro.

Austin is the warning. Its sold search returned 41 sales from October 16 to 23 with beds, baths and square footage, a Zestimate on 39 and a tax-assessed value on 35, and a sale price on none of them. The other five cities returned a price on all 41. Texas is a non-disclosure state, so Zillow shows no sale price there, and no API built on Zillow can return one. If your product covers Texas, Utah or another non-disclosure state, plan for that before you pick a vendor.

1. Scavio: listings, sold comps, Zestimates and agent reviews

Scavio Zillow API page, captured October 27, 2026

Scavio's Zillow API is 3 POST endpoints, each 1 credit. Measured on October 27:

  • Search: "Denver, CO" with listing_status set to sold returned 41 sales of 30,359 in 3.2 s, each with price, sale date, beds, baths, living area, lot size, Zestimate, Rent Zestimate and tax-assessed value. The for-sale search returned 41 of 3,838 listings, 9 of them with a dated price cut, and the rental search 41 of 14,586, with apartment buildings carrying a rent range and the number of available units. 25 filters and 14 sorts include price, beds, home type, days on Zillow and keywords.
  • Property: 1521 Monaco Parkway in Denver came back in 9.9 s with its $1,350,000 price, $368 a square foot, a Zestimate of $1,330,900, a Rent Zestimate of $5,376, its last sale ($1,600,000 on July 2, 2024), the MLS id and 17 dated price points back to 2000, which show it listed at $1,750,000 in March and cut six times.
  • Agent reviews: the profile for Eric Bramlett's Austin team returned a 5.0 rating across 2,223 reviews (1,213 from buyers, 426 from sellers), 5,851 past sales, 146 active listings, license status, service areas and review text with four sub-ratings, in 8.7 s.

What it does not do: property calls are slower than searches (4 to 18 seconds in our test), search rows carry a Zestimate only when Zillow shows one on the results page (10 of 41 for-sale rows in Denver), so a full valuation sweep needs a property call per home, and Zillow publishes no sold prices in non-disclosure states. There are no market-level time series; Zillow's free Research data covers that. The benefit is one key and one JSON format for Zillow alongside Redfin and Realtor.com, plus an MCP server for agents. How to get Zillow property data walks through each call with captured responses.

2. Zillow Group and Bridge Interactive: the licensed route

Zillow Group Zestimates API page, captured October 27, 2026

Zillow Group's developer portal lists APIs for agents and reviews, MLS and broker listings, mortgages, public records, neighborhood data, rentals, transactions and Zestimates, with documentation on Bridge Interactive. The Zestimates API covers "~100 million properties in the US", is aimed at commercial use by businesses, and is requested through the help button; research and academic users are pointed to Zillow's Research data instead. MLS listings are invite-only and depend on each MLS. Pricing is not published. Choose it if you are a brokerage, MLS vendor or approved business that needs a licensed feed and can wait for review.

3. HasData: listing and property endpoints on a plan

HasData Zillow Scraper API page, captured October 27, 2026

HasData's Zillow Scraper API has a listing endpoint (search by city, ZIP or neighborhood) and a property endpoint by URL that returns estimated value and rent, price history with event types, tax history and the listing agent. Its pricing lists 100 Zillow requests a month free, 20,000 for $49 a month ($2.46 per 1,000), 100,000 for $99 ($0.99) and 300,000 for $208 ($0.69), with the $49 figure shown billed annually; its FAQ quotes monthly plans from $59. Failed requests are not billed. It does not list agent reviews. Choose it for steady property pulls at volume on a fixed plan.

4. Bright Data: property records by the thousand

Bright Data Zillow Scraper API page, captured October 27, 2026

Bright Data's Zillow Scraper API collects property listings, search results, full property details and price history, with fields such as zpid, address, home status, price and price per square foot. It costs $1.50 per 1,000 records pay-as-you-go, or $499 a month for 384,000 records with more at $1.30 per 1,000, and every account gets 5,000 free records a month. It bills per record, so a search page of 41 homes is 41 records. The page does not describe an agent collector. Choose it when the deliverable is a large file of records rather than an answer inside a request.

5. Apify Zillow Search Scraper: scheduled no-code runs

Apify Zillow Search Scraper actor page, captured October 27, 2026

On the Apify Store, maxcopell/zillow-scraper is maintained by Apify and lists 8,305 total users and 19 reviews averaging 4.95 of 5. It extracts for-sale, for-rent and sold search results with Zestimate and Rent Zestimate fields, and a separate Zillow Details Scraper handles full property pages. Its header price is "from $1.30 / 1,000 results" while its FAQ says $2 per 1,000 search results, and Apify's $5 of free monthly usage covers about 2,500 results. Actors run as jobs that write to a dataset, which suits scheduled exports more than live calls from an app.

6. RentCast: its own estimates instead of Zillow's

RentCast property data API page, captured October 27, 2026

RentCast is not a Zillow API; it is an alternative data source. It serves 150 million property records with owner and sale history from public records, its own value and rent estimates with comparables, active for-sale and rental listings, and market statistics for over 38,000 ZIP codes. Plans run from 50 free calls a month to $74 for 1,000, $199 for 5,000 and $449 for 25,000 ($0.018 a request), with overage from $0.20 down to $0.015. Choose it when you want an AVM and rent estimate of record and do not need Zillow's own numbers.

Zillow's free Research data is the right answer for market-level series such as home value and rent indexes by metro or ZIP, downloaded as files rather than called per property.

Pick by the number you need

If your product prices homes from recent comps, the ongoing work is pulling fresh sales by area and the history of the homes you value, and that is what Scavio's Zillow API handles. Pulling 5 pages of sales for 25 cities each week is about 540 calls a month, roughly 22,000 sold rows, and checking the Zestimate and price history on 1,000 homes adds 1,000 calls. That is 1,540 credits, about $3 at the Growth-yearly rate of $2 per 1,000 and well inside the $30 Project plan's 7,000 credits. Billed per record, the same rows would be about 23,000 records. Try the Zillow API free, 50 credits, no card, or try the endpoints in the playground.

Frequently asked questions

Does Zillow have a public API?

Not a self-serve one. Zillow Group lists its APIs, including Zestimates, Public Records, MLS Listings and agent Reviews, on its developer portal, with documentation on Bridge Interactive. The Zestimates API is described as for commercial use cases by businesses and is requested through a form, and the MLS Listings API is invite-only with access at the discretion of each MLS partner. No price is published.

Can you scrape data from Zillow?

Public listing pages can be read, and several APIs return that data as JSON so you do not run browsers yourself: Scavio, HasData, Bright Data and Apify actors among them. How you store and redistribute it is your responsibility, and listing data may also carry MLS display rules, so check Zillow's terms and talk to counsel for a commercial product.

Can I get Zillow sold prices through an API?

Yes, where Zillow shows them. Scavio's search with listing_status set to sold returned a sale price on all 41 sales in each of Denver, Phoenix, Atlanta, Seattle and Columbus on October 27, 2026. In Austin it returned none of 41, because Texas is a non-disclosure state and Zillow publishes no sale price there, so no Zillow-based API can return one.

Where does Zillow get its data?

Listings come from MLS feeds, brokerages and agents, and from owners listing directly, while sale history and tax values come from county public records. The Zestimate is Zillow's own model built on those inputs. The listing attribution is in Scavio's property response, for example the MLS name and MLS id behind a Denver listing.

What is the cheapest Zillow data API?

Per listing row, Scavio: one search call returns about 41 listings for 1 credit, $2 per 1,000 calls on the Growth plan billed yearly. HasData charges $0.69 to $2.46 per 1,000 Zillow requests by plan, Bright Data $1.50 per 1,000 records, and Apify's Zillow Search Scraper from $1.30 per 1,000 results.
