A free website text extractor
Web pages are buried in markup, navigation, ads, and scripts. This tool strips all of that and gives you the actual content — clean text you can read, search, or feed to an LLM without the noise.
Use it to summarize an article, archive a page, pull content into a research doc, or hand a web page to an AI agent as context. No login to start.

Frequently asked questions
What kinds of pages work?+
Any publicly accessible web page — articles, blog posts, documentation, product pages, landing pages, and more. The extractor reads the rendered HTML and returns the readable text content.
Is it free?+
Yes — you get free extractions with no account. Sign up free to keep extracting on your own Scavio credits.
What about JavaScript-rendered pages?+
The extract endpoint handles JavaScript-rendered (SPA) pages. Most modern sites, including React and Next.js apps, are supported.
Can I use this from code?+
Yes — the same extract engine is available as POST /api/v1/extract. Pass a URL in the request body and get back the title, word count, and full text content. Works from any language or agent framework.
Does it work on PDFs?+
If the URL points to a publicly hosted PDF, the extractor will attempt to pull its text content. Results depend on whether the PDF contains selectable text rather than scanned images.
Does it work on login-walled pages?+
No — the extractor can only read publicly accessible content. Pages behind a login, paywall, or CAPTCHA will return an error or incomplete results.
Are there rate limits?+
Anonymous users get a small number of free extractions. Sign up free to use your own API credits and extract at higher volume.
What content is extracted?+
The extractor returns the main text content of the page — headings, paragraphs, lists, and other readable elements. Navigation menus, ads, scripts, and boilerplate are stripped out.
Can I extract entire websites?+
This tool extracts one page at a time. To crawl multiple pages programmatically, use the POST /api/v1/extract endpoint in a loop from your own code.
What format does the extracted text come in?+
The content is returned as clean plain text (or markdown, depending on the source). It preserves headings and paragraph structure but removes all HTML tags, styles, and scripts.
