App reviews are the most direct feedback a product team gets: bug reports tied to a version number, feature requests, pricing complaints and the reasons people switch. The store pages show them a few at a time. This tool pulls the latest 50 in one go for any app on the App Store or Google Play, yours or a competitor's.

The summary is built from the reviews it fetched, not the all-time score. A 4.7 app whose last 50 reviews average 2.9 has a problem, usually in the latest release, and the version column shows which one. Product managers use that to triage releases, ASO specialists to find the words users actually use, and app marketers to watch competitors.

Behind the tool are two endpoints of the Scavio API. The App Store API returns reviews, app details and search for any Apple storefront, and the Google Play API returns reviews with developer replies, full listings with install counts and search. Run them daily through the API to keep a running log of every new review.

How to export App Store and Google Play reviews

  1. 1

    Paste the app

Paste an App Store link or numeric ID, or a Google Play link or package name such as com.spotify.music. The store is detected for you.

  2. 2

    Pick the country and order

Reviews are separate in every country, so choose the store you care about, then pick newest first or most helpful (on Google Play this is the store's own most relevant order).

  3. 3

Read the reviews and the summary

See the average rating of the fetched reviews, the 1 to 5 star breakdown, the share of 1 and 2 star reviews, and each review with its date and app version.

Frequently asked questions

Which app stores does this work with?+

The Apple App Store and Google Play. Paste an apps.apple.com link, a numeric App Store ID, a play.google.com link or an Android package name, and the tool picks the right store. If you paste an iOS bundle ID like notion.id, switch the store to App Store.

What does each review include?+

The star rating, the review text, the author name, the date and the app version the reviewer was using. App Store reviews also carry a title and helpful vote counts. Google Play reviews carry thumbs-up counts and the developer's reply when there is one.

Can I export the reviews to CSV?+

The free check shows the first 20 reviews on the page and counts all 50 in the summary. To get every review as data, call the same endpoint through the API: it returns the reviews as JSON that you can write to a CSV file, a sheet, a database or a BI tool. Sign up free for 50 credits, no card required.

How many reviews can I download?+

Each lookup fetches the 50 most recent or most helpful reviews. Through the API, the App Store reviews endpoint pages back 10 pages of 50 per country, and the Google Play reviews endpoint pages with a cursor, up to 200 reviews per call.

Can I look up a competitor's app?+

Yes. Any public app works, not only apps you publish. That makes it useful for competitor research: see what users complain about, which version broke something, and what they ask for.

Why do I get different reviews for different countries?+

Both stores keep reviews per country. The same app shows a different set of reviews in the US, the UK and Germany. On Google Play, reviews also come back in the main language of the country you pick.

What do the summary numbers mean?+

The average rating, star bars and share of 1 and 2 star reviews are calculated from the reviews this lookup fetched, not from all-time ratings. That shows how recent users feel, which is often different from the all-time score on the store page.

How is this different from the Google Play Developer API?+

Google's own reviews API works for your own apps, returns only reviews created or modified in the last week, and skips ratings that have no comment. The Scavio API returns public reviews for any app on Google Play and the App Store with one API key.

Is it free?+

Yes. You get 5 free review lookups a day with no account. Sign up for 50 free credits on signup, no card required, and keep going on your own credits.

How do I get app reviews in my own code?+

POST /api/v1/appstore/reviews with { "app_id": "1232780281", "country": "us" } returns 50 App Store reviews for 1 credit. POST /api/v1/googleplay/reviews with { "app_id": "com.spotify.music", "sort": "newest" } returns Google Play reviews for 2 credits. Run it daily through the API to watch new reviews.
