Rightmove API

Rightmove does not offer a public API for reading its property data. Its data feeds are for member estate agents and their software partners to send listings to Rightmove. The Scavio Rightmove API is a REST API that returns public Rightmove data as JSON for anyone with a key: listing search for sale and to rent, full listing detail, England and Wales sold prices, sale history per address, location lookup and estate agent branches, 7 endpoints at 1 credit each.

Yes. The sold endpoint returns sold prices for a town, outcode or postcode in England and Wales, 25 addresses per page, each with its full sale history back to 1995 (price, date, tenure and new-build flag) and an area summary with the average price over the last year. Sold property returns one address with every sale and the percent change between them. Scotland and Northern Ireland are not covered by the sold endpoints.

Yes for the prices and dates: they are HM Land Registry Price Paid Data, which is free under the Open Government Licence and, like the sold endpoints, covers England and Wales. Rightmove adds bedrooms, a photo and each address's sale history in one response, and sold-property adds the address's last listing. If you need every sale in an area, download Price Paid Data; one Rightmove sold query serves up to 1,000 addresses (40 pages of 25).

A search page returns 24 or 25 listings, and Rightmove serves up to 42 pages, about 1,000 listings, per search. Sold prices return 25 addresses per page up to 40 pages, and agents 20 branches per page up to 50 pages. Each response carries max_page. For a bigger area, slice the search by price band, property type or a smaller location such as an outcode.

No. Rightmove search has no keyword or free-text filter, so a request that sends keywords is rejected with a 400 and is not billed, rather than returning an unfiltered search. Every listing carries its summary and key_features, so match words like annexe or workshop on your side, and the property endpoint adds the full description.

Yes. Set listing_status to for_rent and prices are monthly rent in GBP; add furnishing, let_type and include_under_offer for let-agreed listings. Each rental listing carries the available date, and the property endpoint adds letting terms such as deposit and furnishing.

A live listing carries its current price and listing_update, such as a price reduction and its date, but not a full asking-price history. For past sales of an address in England or Wales, use sold-property, which returns every recorded sale with price, date and percent change.

Yes, on the property endpoint when the agent provided them: tenure type and lease years remaining, council tax band, annual service charge and ground rent, plus EPC, floorplans, brochures, parking, garden, heating, flood-risk details, broadband and the nearest stations.

Yes. The agents endpoint lists estate and letting agent branches for a location with sales and lettings phone numbers, address, brand, company and brand ids, description and profile URL. The agent endpoint returns one branch with its company, flags for sales, lettings, commercial and development, affiliations and its for-sale and to-rent counts; search with branch_id returns every listing of that branch.

Every Rightmove endpoint costs 1 credit per call. A search call returns 24 or 25 listings and a sold call 25 addresses with their full sale histories. On the Growth plan billed yearly ($2 per 1,000 credits) that is $0.002 per call. A listing, sold address, branch or place name that does not exist returns a 404 and costs 1 credit; temporary failures are not billed. New accounts get 50 free credits with no card, and paid plans start at $30 per month for 7,000 credits.

Scavio returns publicly available Rightmove data: what anyone can see on a public Rightmove page. It does not access agent accounts or anything behind a login, and returns no homeowner contact details. Whether your specific use is permitted depends on your jurisdiction, your use case, UK data protection law and Rightmove's terms, and you remain responsible for how you use the data. Every request reads Rightmove live at the moment you call it, so new listings, price reductions and status changes show up as soon as Rightmove shows them. Sold prices are as current as Rightmove's sold records: each sold response carries data_coverage with the most recent transaction and the last update date (in our capture, updated 17 September 2026). Sold records follow HM Land Registry with a lag; on 10 October 2026 the newest sold transaction was 31 July 2026.
