What is RubyLLM?
Unified Ruby gem that wraps OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Bedrock, VertexAI, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, Ollama, Perplexity, Mistral, and xAI behind one API. RubyLLM::Agents ships a Rails engine for production agents with execution tracking, PII redaction, budget enforcement, tenant isolation, and a live dashboard. Call Scavio over HTTP from inside any RubyLLM tool to give Rails agents live Google SERP, YouTube transcripts, Amazon product data, and Reddit context without managing proxies or parsers.
Searching YouTube Playlists with RubyLLM
This integration lets your RubyLLM agent search YouTube Playlists in real time via the Scavio API. The agent gets back structured JSON with playlist entries from search, video results, channel results, shorts results -- ready for reasoning and decision-making.
Setup
bundle add ruby_llm && bundle add ruby_llm-agentsCode Example
Here is a complete RubyLLM agent that searches YouTube Playlists using Scavio:
# Generic HTTP integration for RubyLLM
# Point your framework's HTTP request tool at:
#
# POST https://api.scavio.dev/api/v1/youtube/search
# Authorization: Bearer sk_live_your_key
# Content-Type: application/json
# {"search":"your search query"}
#
# Rows come back under data.results.
#
# Playlist data is not available: POST /api/v1/youtube/search accepts type: playlist but the provider returns an empty playlists array, so there is no playlist title, video count, creator or visibility to read, and no removal tracking. This sample returns the videos for the query; type: channel does work if you want creators instead.
