What is Codex CLI?
OpenAI's terminal coding agent. Uses MCP servers for tool access — add Scavio for real-time search that Codex can call during code generation.
How It Works
Scavio connects to Codex CLI via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once connected, your Codex CLI agent can search Google, Amazon, YouTube, and Walmart in real time. Each search returns structured JSON — no HTML parsing, no scraping infrastructure.
Setup
npm install -g @openai/codexCode Example
Here is a complete Codex CLI integration with Scavio:
# Generic HTTP integration for Codex CLI
# Use your framework's HTTP request tool to call:
# POST https://api.scavio.dev/api/v1/search
# Header: x-api-key: your_scavio_api_key
# Body: {"query": "your search query"}Full Working Example
