What's the Best Way to Scrape Lowes.com for Price and Stock? Call an API Pinned to the Store

The best way to get Lowe's price and stock data is not to maintain a scraper at all. Scavio's Lowe's API takes a Lowe's store number and that store's ZIP and returns the store's current price, was-price, units on hand and the aisle and bay the item sits in, as JSON, read from lowes.com when you call. Find the store number with /api/v1/lowes/stores and any ZIP. A search or product call costs 2 credits, about $0.004 on the Growth plan billed yearly, and needs no Lowe's account and no code to keep alive.

The question was asked on r/webscraping in March 2026: the poster wanted "price data and stock status" from Lowes.com, was not a developer, and found that their requests worked for a few products and then got blocked. The 23 comments traded workarounds, and one warned that the endpoint the poster had found is heavily rate limited. The thread ranks fourth on Google for "lowes api". What the poster needed is three calls.

What Lowe's itself offers

Lowe's has no public product API. Its developer hub documents APIs for Lowe's service providers, such as job management for installers, not a way to read an item's price or a store's shelf. Lowe's stock and some prices are also set per store, so a scraper that reads the default store returns one store's numbers and leaves you to guess which.

Step 1: Find the store

ZIP 60601 returned the Wicker Park store in Chicago, store_id 3284, 2.7 miles away, with its own ZIP, 60622, then the Lowe's Outlet Chicago (3572) and Chicago-Brickyard (1845). ZIP 10001 returned the Brooklyn store, 1674, ZIP 11215, among others.

Step 2: Ask for the item at that store

Same item, same price, same hour: 8 on the shelf in Chicago and 354 in Brooklyn. The store object always names the store that answered. The full response also lists the stock at 8 nearby stores; near Wicker Park, one store 11.5 miles away had 90.

Step 3: Do it for a whole shelf with search

Each of the 24 rows a page carries the store's price, stock_quantity, in_stock and pickup, truck delivery and parcel availability with lead times. Add on_sale: true and only the store's markdowns come back, each with its end date. Run across six stores on October 31, 2026, the same three cordless drills cost the same everywhere while their stock ranged from 5 to 354 units, and a bag of mulch was on sale in Houston only. What you get, and its limits

• Live, not cached: each call reads lowes.com for the store you pin when you make it, and the response carries fetched_at.
• Units, not just a status: stock_quantity is the count on hand at that store. total_quantity on a fulfillment block is wider than the store, so do not quote it as the shelf count.
• Know when the store does not carry it: price_type "NETWORK" or "SOS" means the store does not stock the item and the price is the online one.
• One store per call: six stores is six calls. Store-pinned searches answered in a median of 3.6 seconds in our test, with occasional calls taking up to about a minute, so batch them on a schedule rather than per page view.
• US only: lowes.com stores, 2 credits for search, product and stores, 1 for reviews.

Checking 200 items at 3 stores once a day is 600 product calls and 1,200 credits a day, about 36,000 a month: $72 on the Growth plan billed yearly. Reading them through search pages instead, 24 items per call, cuts that to a fraction.
