6 Best eBay Price Data APIs in 2026: Scavio Shows Which Live Listings Actually Sell

Scavio's eBay API returns live prices with units sold, watchers and bids on each listing, up to 240 listings for 1 credit, so you can see which asks sell.

For eBay prices inside an app, a repricer or an AI agent, start with Scavio's eBay API. One POST /api/v1/ebay/search returns up to 240 live listings with price, condition, shipping and seller, plus the three numbers eBay prints next to a listing when people act on it: units sold, watchers and auction bids. That lets you see which asks actually sell rather than averaging every ask on the page. Every eBay call costs 1 credit, and Scavio starts from $2 per 1,000 requests on the Growth plan billed yearly.

The next question is always sold listings, so here is the plain version. Since late August 2026, eBay shows sold and completed search results only to signed-in users, and its own sold-data product, the Marketplace Insights API, is a limited release that eBay has described as restricted and not open to new users. eBay's open Browse API returns active listings and needs an application and OAuth tokens. Scavio does not return sold listings today: a "sold": true search came back on October 27, 2026 as an HTTP 400 that names eBay's login requirement, rather than an empty array. The section on sold data below covers the vendors that still sell it.

We build Scavio, so read this with that bias in mind. Every Scavio number below comes from live calls we made on October 27, 2026. Every competitor detail was read off the vendor's own page that day, and where a detail was not published we say so. We did not run paid queries through competitors. The screenshots are each vendor's own eBay page, captured the same day.

What live listings tell you about price

Asking prices on their own mislead, because anyone can list an iPhone at $890. The useful signal is which asks people act on. We ran three searches for "iphone 14 pro 128gb unlocked" with per_page: 240: two pages of best match and one page of auctions ending soonest, 3 credits in total. That returned 738 unique listings, of which 187 titles were the iPhone 14 Pro 128GB (other models fill the rest of an eBay results page). We set aside 10 asking over $1,000, most of them phones advertised with apps preinstalled, and grouped the other 177 by the signal each listing carries.

177 live eBay iPhone 14 Pro 128GB listings on October 27, 2026: the 18 fixed-price listings showing units sold, 1,781 units in total, ask $352 to $550 with a median of $403.51, while 29 asks above $600 show no sales or watchers and auction bids sit at a median $207.50

The 18 fixed-price listings that show units sold account for 1,781 units between them, and they ask $351.99 to $549.95, with a median of $403.51. The 24 that show watchers but no sales sit slightly lower, at a median of $390.00 with 561 watchers between them. The 112 listings with neither signal have a similar median, $420.00, but a long tail: 29 of them ask more than $600 and nothing on eBay suggests anyone is buying at that price. Live auctions with bids had a median current bid of $207.50 across 172 bids, and those auctions still had hours to days to run, so treat them as a floor rather than a price.

If you value inventory, set a repricer or answer "what is this worth", that split matters more than the overall median. The demand-backed band for this phone was roughly $352 to $550, and the price most sales cluster around was about $400. None of that needed sold-listing access.

1. Scavio: live prices with demand signals, listing detail and sellers

Scavio eBay API page, captured October 27, 2026

Scavio's eBay API is 3 POST endpoints on ebay.com, all 1 credit. Measured on October 27:

  • Search: 242 listings in one call (3.9 s server time), each with price, original price, condition, shipping, location, buy_it_now, best_offer, bids, time_left, sold_count, watchers, seller name, feedback percentage and count, top-rated status and a sponsored flag. Of those 242 rows, 70 carried a units-sold count, 44 a watcher count and 9 were auctions with bids. Filters cover condition, buying format, price range, free shipping, category, seller and sort, including ending soonest.
  • Listing detail: a Good - Refurbished iPhone 14 Pro from the seller tekdeals returned price $396.03 against an original $999, 428 units sold, MPN A2650, 16 item specifics, five full-size images, 30-day returns, payment methods and the item location in San Marcos, California, in 5.1 s.
  • Seller: the same seller's profile returned the store name, 99.9% positive feedback, 278,000 items sold, 25,000 followers and seven store categories. A search with seller set pages through that seller's listings: 63 matches for "iphone 14 pro" at tekdeals.

What it does not do: there is no sold or completed view while eBay keeps it behind sign-in, item specifics are not on search rows (item_aspects was empty on all 242), and the search covers ebay.com only. eBay pads thin result sets with looser matches, so filter titles before you average; the auction search returned 266 rows against eBay's own count of 40 matches. The benefit is one key and one JSON format for eBay alongside Amazon, Walmart and Google Shopping, and an MCP server for agents. How to get eBay price data through an API walks through each call with captured responses.

2. SerpApi: eBay search, product and seller APIs

SerpApi eBay Search API page, captured October 27, 2026

SerpApi's eBay Search API takes the same page sizes as eBay (60, 120 or 240), condition ids, buying format and other eBay filters, and SerpApi also lists separate eBay Product and eBay Seller APIs. Its documentation states that the Sold and Complete filter options "are deprecated and no longer supported", so it is a live-listing API like Scavio. Its sample results show price, condition, shipping, location, buying format and seller feedback; we did not find bids, watchers or units sold in the documented sample. Pricing is per search: 250 free a month, $25 for 1,000, $75 for 5,000 and $150 for 15,000 ($10 per 1,000). Choose it if your team already uses SerpApi for Google.

3. SoldComps: sold comps over a GET request

SoldComps eBay Sold Listings API page, captured October 27, 2026

SoldComps sells exactly the data eBay walled off: one GET returns up to 240 completed eBay sales with sold price, date, condition, shipping and seller, across 8 eBay sites with up to 90 days of history. Plans are a free tier of 100 requests a month, $9 for 2,000, $29 for 10,000 and $79 for 50,000, up to $999 for 2,000,000. Its page says every request "fetches data in real time directly from eBay"; it does not say how it reads sold results that eBay now serves only to signed-in users. Choose it if sold comps are the whole job, and test it on an item that sold yesterday before you commit.

4. Apify actors: sold-listing exports on a schedule

Apify eBay Sold Listings actor page, captured October 27, 2026

On the Apify Store, caffein.dev/ebay-sold-listings has 4,294 users, a 4.4 rating and charges from $2.50 per 1,000 results. It returns sold price, end date, bid count, shipping, listing type and seller fields across 8 eBay sites. Its page does not mention eBay's sign-in requirement. Another actor, marielise.dev's eBay Sold Price Checker, is explicit about it: its README says eBay put the Sold Items filter behind a login in August 2026, its Verified mode runs searches on managed, logged-in accounts at $0.35 a search plus $0.004 a comp, and its Standard mode can return a login_wall status. Actors run as jobs that write to a dataset, which suits scheduled exports; each is maintained by its author, so pin the one you test.

5. eBay Average Selling Price on RapidAPI: summary statistics

eBay Average Selling Price on RapidAPI page, captured October 27, 2026

eBay Average Selling Price, from the provider Trawl with 1,909 subscribers, returns recently sold eBay listings for a keyword query with the total count, average, minimum and maximum price, and accepts excluded phrases, category and aspect filters. Plans are Basic at $0 for 50 requests a month, Pro at $25 for 2,000, Ultra at $60 for 10,000 and Mega at $120 for 50,000. Choose it when one average per query is enough and you do not need the listings themselves.

6. Bright Data: bulk listing records

Bright Data eBay Scraper API page, captured October 27, 2026

Bright Data's eBay Scraper API collects listings by URL, keyword, store and category, with product ID, title, condition, price, shipping cost, item location and seller rating among its fields. It costs $1.50 per 1,000 records pay-as-you-go, or $499 a month for 384,000 records with more at $1.30 per 1,000, and every account gets 5,000 free records a month. Its page does not mention sold listings. Because it bills per record, a 240-listing search is 240 records. Choose it when the deliverable is a large file of listings rather than an answer inside a request.

What about sold listings?

eBay's change in late August 2026 means a logged-out request for any search with the Sold Items filter is sent to signin.ebay.com. We documented the redirect in eBay sold listings now require a login. For an API that means one of three things: it signs in with accounts, it serves data it stored earlier, or it does not offer sold data. Scavio is in the third group, and its sold flag returns this rather than an empty result:

JSON
{
"error": "eBay redirects sold/completed listing searches (LH_Sold / LH_Complete) to a login page; this data now requires authentication and cannot be scraped. Remove these filters to query active listings."
}

If sold comps are the whole job, SoldComps, the Apify actors and the RapidAPI listing above sell them; check how each one reaches the sold view and whether that fits eBay's terms for your use. If you need prices to act on today, the live signals in the chart above go a long way, and storing them daily gives you a price history of your own.

Pick by the number you need

If your product prices used goods, flags underpriced listings or answers "what is this worth on eBay", the ongoing work is pulling every relevant listing often enough to see what moves, and that is what Scavio's eBay API is built for. Tracking 500 products once a day with one 240-listing search each is 500 calls a day, about 15,000 a month: $30 at the Growth-yearly rate of $2 per 1,000 credits. Each of those calls returned up to 242 listings in our test, so that budget covers up to about 120,000 listings a day with their units sold, watchers and bids. Billed per record, the same coverage would be about 3.6 million records a month. Try the eBay API free, 50 credits, no card, or try the endpoints in the playground.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an API for eBay sold listings?

eBay's own sold-data API, Marketplace Insights, is a limited release that eBay has described as restricted and not open to new users. Since late August 2026 eBay also shows sold and completed search results only to signed-in users. Third-party sold-listings APIs still exist; ask each one how it reads a page eBay now serves only after sign-in, and test it on an item that sold yesterday.

How can I see sold items on eBay?

Sign in to an eBay account, search, and tick Sold Items under the filters; eBay shows roughly the last 90 days. Sellers can also use Terapeak inside Seller Hub. Neither is an API, and a logged-out request for the sold view is redirected to sign-in.

How do I get an eBay API key?

For eBay's own APIs, join the eBay Developers Program, create an application and use its keys to request OAuth tokens; the Browse API then returns active listings. To skip that, Scavio's eBay API takes one API key issued at signup and returns live listings, listing detail and seller profiles as JSON.

What is the cheapest eBay price data API?

Per listing, a search API that returns a full results page per call. Scavio is $2 per 1,000 calls on its Growth plan billed yearly, and one call returned 242 listings in our test. SerpApi is $10 per 1,000 searches on its Production plan, Bright Data $1.50 per 1,000 records, and the sold-data vendors run from $2.50 per 1,000 results on Apify to $2.40 per 1,000 requests on RapidAPI's Mega plan.

Can I get eBay price history through an API?

Not from eBay's public pages without signing in. What you can build is your own history: call a live-listing API on a schedule and store each day's asks, bids and units sold. Scavio's eBay search returns sold_count, watchers and bids on each listing, so the stored series shows demand as well as price.
