For an AI agent that has to search Amazon, read a product by ASIN and compare every seller on a listing, start with Scavio's Amazon API. POST /api/v1/amazon/search returns a page of products with ASIN, price, rating and review count, /product returns the full listing with the buy-box seller and availability, and /offers lists every offer behind the buy box, in any of 22 Amazon marketplaces. Each call is 1 credit, about $0.002 on the Growth plan billed yearly, and Scavio's hosted MCP server gives an agent all three as tools.
You need a third-party API because Amazon's own routes are closed to most agent builders. The Product Advertising API 5.0 is deprecated: calls to it now return HTTP 403 and a message to migrate. Its successor, the Creators API, requires enrollment in the Amazon Associates program for the marketplace you target and at least 10 qualifying sales in the past 30 days, and it exists to promote Amazon products. The Selling Partner API reads a seller's own listings and orders, not the marketplace.
We build Scavio, so read this with that bias in mind. Every Scavio number below comes from live calls we made on October 27, 2026. Every competitor detail was read off the vendor's own page or documentation that day, and where a detail was not published we say so. The screenshots are each vendor's own Amazon page, captured the same day.

Ask an agent what something costs on Amazon. Which Amazon?
There are 22 Amazon marketplaces, and the same product does not cost the same in them. An agent that answers "how much is this on Amazon" from amazon.com alone gives a European or Latin American user the wrong number. We priced one current LEGO set, Star Wars Millennium Falcon 75375, with one Scavio product call per marketplace.
Converted at the ECB reference rates of October 26, the set cost $58.43 on amazon.pl (229.99 PLN) and $97.83 on amazon.com.mx (MX$1,821.09): 67% more for the same box. The euro area alone ran from €53.99 in Germany and €54.99 in France to €74.97 in Spain, 39% more, against the same €84.99 list price in all five. The US price was $67.99 against a $84.99 list price. Canada and India returned the listing with no buy-box price at all, and in Japan a third-party seller, not Amazon, held the buy box.
The buy box hides a second layer. On 16 US listings whose offers we pulled the same morning, a third-party seller held the buy box on 8, and on 4 the buy-box price was above the cheapest new offer. On Apple AirPods Pro (1st generation), the buy box went to the reseller 6ave at $265.49 while Amazon.com itself offered the same item new for $249. An agent that reads only the product page reports $265.49. One offers call shows the cheaper option.
1. Scavio: search, product and every offer, in 22 marketplaces

Scavio's Amazon API is three 1-credit POST endpoints plus a free marketplace list. Measured on October 27 (server response times; the median was 1.9 s for search, 2.7 s for product and 1.6 s for offers across our 60 calls):
- Search: "airpods pro" returned 16 products from "over 10,000 results" in 4.1 s, each with ASIN, price, rating, review count,
is_sponsored, position, badge, Amazon's "10K+ bought in past month" line and delivery dates, plus 33 filter groups and 6 related searches. - Product: AirPods Pro 3 came back at $199.99 against a $249 list price, sold by Amazon.com, "In Stock", an
other_sellers_countof 11, the exact review count (17,097), images, videos, the feature bullets and specifications, in 2.8 s. - Offers: the same ASIN's 11 offers in 1.7 s: Amazon.com new at $199.99 holding the buy box, Amazon Resale used from $183.44, and new from four other sellers between $247 and $279, each with condition, who ships it, Prime and delivery date.
- Marketplaces: a
countryparameter switches between the 22 marketplaces; the freeGET /api/v1/amazon/optionslists them.
For agents, the MCP server exposes these as search_amazon, get_amazon_product, get_amazon_offers and get_amazon_options, so Claude, ChatGPT or a framework agent calls Amazon with the same key it uses for Walmart, Google Shopping and the rest of Scavio. What it does not do: no price history, no review text (product returns review metadata only), no server-side sort on search, and offers returns the first page only, so a listing Amazon reports with 59 offers came back with 11. Search review counts are rounded the way Amazon displays them; product and offers return the exact number. How to get Amazon product data through an API walks through each call with captured responses.
2. Keepa: price and sales-rank history

The Keepa API is the one to pick when the job is history: prices, sales rank and offers as JSON, with price history back to 2011, across 11 Amazon marketplaces. Every plan includes a hosted MCP server, so Claude or ChatGPT can query it directly. Plans are monthly and priced by token rate: €49 for 20 tokens a minute, €459 for 250, €2,499 for 2,000 and €11,099 for 10,000. A product costs 1 token, offers add 6 tokens per page of up to 10, and unused tokens expire after 60 minutes, per its token documentation. Prices come back as integers in cents. Choose it for price-drop alerts, sales-rank trends and anything that needs the past; it does not cover the 11 marketplaces it leaves out, such as Poland, Sweden or the UAE.
3. Rainforest API: Amazon-only depth

Rainforest API, from Traject Data (which has joined ScraperAPI), covers product details, reviews, live pricing and deals, seller and store data, buy box monitoring and a new product search, across what it calls all major Amazon marketplaces. Plans billed annually run from $23 a month for 500 credits and $83 for 10,000 to $375 for 250,000 and $1,000 for 1,000,000, with a free trial. The pricing page does not say how many credits each request type uses, and the product page does not mention an MCP server. Choose it when you want one Amazon specialist with reviews and deals in the same API.
4. DataForSEO Merchant API: cheap queued tasks

DataForSEO's Amazon API has Products (search, up to 100 results a task), ASIN and Sellers tasks, and can target locations down to a ZIP code. Price depends on how fast you need the answer: $1.50 per 1,000 in the standard queue (up to 45 minutes), $3.00 in the priority queue and, in live mode (up to a minute), $5.00 per 1,000 ASINs or $3.30 per 1,000 searches. It is pay-as-you-go with a $50 minimum top-up and a $1 trial credit. DataForSEO lists an MCP server sitewide, but its Amazon page does not say the Merchant API is in it. Choose it for large overnight pulls; a queue measured in minutes does not suit an agent answering in a chat.
5. Bright Data: bulk records

Bright Data's Amazon Scraper API has collectors for products (by URL, keyword, category, UPC and best sellers), product search, reviews, sellers and an Amazon Price collector that reports buy box ownership. It costs $1.50 per 1,000 records pay-as-you-go, or $499 a month for 384,000 records and $1.30 per 1,000 after that, with 5,000 free records a month and no card. Its page says any agent can connect through Bright Data's hosted MCP server. Because it bills per record, a search that returns 16 products is 16 records. Choose it when the deliverable is a dataset rather than an answer inside a request.
6. SerpApi: Amazon search and product pages

SerpApi's Amazon Search API returns organic results, product ads, sponsored brands, filters and categories, and its Amazon Product API takes an ASIN with an optional other_sellers parameter; both take an amazon_domain. It also runs a hosted MCP server for its engines. Pricing is per search: 250 free a month, $25 for 1,000, $75 for 5,000 and $150 for 15,000 ($10 per 1,000). Choose it if your team already pays SerpApi for Google and wants one vendor.
Oxylabs, ScraperAPI and Apify actors also return Amazon data; check each one's per-call price and whether it returns the offer list before you compare.
Pick by the number you need
If your agent answers shopping questions, each answer that searches, opens the top product and checks its sellers is three calls, 3 credits. At 500 such answers a day that is 1,500 credits a day and about 45,000 a month: $90 at the Growth-yearly rate of $2 per 1,000 credits, in whichever of the 22 marketplaces each user shops. A price monitor that reads the offers on 1,000 ASINs every day is about 30,000 credits a month, $60 at the same rate. If what you need is the price history of products in Keepa's 11 marketplaces, Keepa's €49 plan is cheaper; if your agent needs the live answer, every seller and any marketplace, that is the job Scavio's Amazon API is built for. Try the Amazon API free, 50 credits, no card, or try the endpoints in the playground.

Frequently asked questions
Does Amazon provide an API for product data?
Amazon's Product Advertising API 5.0 is deprecated, and calls to it now return HTTP 403 with a message to migrate to the Creators API. The Creators API needs enrollment in the Amazon Associates program for the marketplace you target and at least 10 qualifying sales in the past 30 days. The Selling Partner API covers a seller's own listings and orders. To read any product's live price and sellers without either program, developers use third-party APIs.
What is the best Amazon product data API for AI agents?
For an agent that needs live search results, a product by ASIN and every seller offer in one session, Scavio's Amazon API is the best fit: each of the three calls is 1 credit, it covers 22 marketplaces through one country parameter, and its hosted MCP server exposes them as the search_amazon, get_amazon_product and get_amazon_offers tools. For price history, use Keepa.
Can an AI agent see every seller on an Amazon listing, not just the buy box?
Yes, through an offers endpoint. On 16 US listings we checked on October 27, 2026, a third-party seller held the buy box on 8, and on 4 the buy-box price was higher than the cheapest new offer. Keepa returns offers for extra tokens, Rainforest API and DataForSEO sell offer or seller data, and SerpApi's product API has an other-sellers option.
Which Amazon API includes price history?
Keepa. Its API returns price and sales-rank history back to 2011 across 11 Amazon marketplaces, and its plans start at 49 euros a month. Live-data APIs return the price at the moment you call, so to build your own history you call them on a schedule and store the results.
What is the cheapest Amazon product data API?
It depends on the unit. DataForSEO's queued tasks are $1.50 per 1,000 but can take up to 45 minutes, Bright Data charges $1.50 per 1,000 records, and Keepa's 49-euro plan generates 20 tokens a minute at 1 token per product. Scavio is $2 per 1,000 calls on its Growth plan billed yearly, and one search call returns a whole page of products.
