- What does the setup prompt install?
- Scavio agent skills from github.com/scavio-ai/skills, nothing else: the scavio skill, which routes each request to the right platform and quotes its credit cost, plus the skill for the platform you name. It does not edit CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or any other instruction file, and it asks before overwriting a Scavio skill you already have.
- Why skills and not the MCP server?
- Skills load only when a request needs them. An MCP server puts every tool definition in your agent's context in every session, whether you call Scavio or not. The MCP server is still available at scavio.dev/mcp if you want it.
- Do I have to copy an API key?
- No. The agent runs npx -y scavio@latest login, which prints a link and a code. You open the link, sign in or create a free account (50 free credits, no card), check the code and click Approve. The CLI saves a key named after your machine to your shell profile as SCAVIO_API_KEY without printing it, so the key never enters the chat. You can still copy a key from https://dashboard.scavio.dev/api-keys and add it yourself if you prefer.
- Which coding agents does it support?
- Claude Code, Codex, Pi, Cursor, GitHub Copilot in VS Code and Windsurf each get their own install command. Any other agent the skills CLI supports gets the same command without an agent name, and the CLI installs to the agents it finds.
- How do I set up one platform, such as Nordstrom?
- Use the pill on that platform's landing page, or name the platform in your request. The agent installs that platform's skill next to the scavio skill, tells you the per-call credits from the table below, and offers one real call to confirm it works.
- What does setup cost?
- The skills are free, and the key check against the usage endpoint costs no credits. The optional platform call costs that platform's normal per-call credits, and the agent asks before making it.
- Can I set it up by hand instead?
- Yes. Every agent card on this page lists the exact commands the agent would run, and the key steps are below them, so you can copy them yourself.
